What are you babbling about twat?

Does it really matter at all? There are no conferences anymore. Any SEC team at 9-3 or better will be in the playoffs and then you just win.

You’re an idiot. Most LSU fans want 9 games.

It matters when LSU still has to play a P4 OOC game plus an extra SEC game and has another loss because of it, and the committee doesn’t reward them for playing a harder schedule.
Meanwhile a b10 team (like Illinois) who is 9-3 bc they don’t play that schedule gets in and gets their asses kicked, kinda like last year

Ehh. Maybe but let’s be honest. If you lose 3 games, you don’t really deserve to be in the title game anyway.
Like I said. None of it matters really. And you are going to watch regardless.

If LSU loses four games even against a nine game sec schedule we don’t deserve to make the playoff. How about we just fricking win games?
Everyone has turned into such babies with the expanded playoff, trying to argue their teams in with four losses. It’s pathetic.
ETA: Tennessee, a 10-2 SEC team, got their dicks kicked in just as much as Indiana. Newsflash neither should have been in the playoff

$5,000,000 to LSU for an extra game against a quality opponent.

If this stands I won’t. I’ll go strictly baseball. Not even joking. Baseball is the only pure sport left in college athletics. Hopefully they don’t find a way to frick that up too.

Did you really think Texas wasn’t going to win? It’s what we do
Posted on 8/22/25 at 8:59 pm to 00 Tech Grad
Wrong. Sankey & the majority of SEC programs have been wanting to go to 9 games for years.
If anything, the conference has now turned the tables on the BIG10.. they’ll have nothing to bitch about now & their scheduling looks much weaker now.

Texas will be fricked by this eventually too. When yall have to face a P4 and an extra SEC team in a year you think you could get in the playoff you’ll get it. Imagine facing Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Clemson in the regular season when all those teams are playoff contenders . And you don’t get the benefit of the doubt when you lose 3 of them and some scrub B1G team gets in instead of you because they played Boise State and Iowa

That sounds great until you see what the playoff committee did this last year. They fricked the SEC when Ole Miss, SC were left out for losers like SMU with the 78th strength of schedule

The only real downside to this I see is potentially butchering themselves come playoff time with depth issues from injury. It will be more competitive. As a fan, it's a good thing. More exciting games. Bad for small schools because they already struggling financially and rely on big universities. I would think that because they're more competitive though and interesting games, this means SEC will make much more money. Therefore your depth problems are solved when teams have more money to spend. It will work itself out.
My only issue is the committee needs to start pushing harder for SOS in playoffs. It's absolutely dumb the past few years they have not done this. I know they're moving to this now but how did it take this long to do? Bizarre. Now the Big 10 thinks they're better than the SEC because they benefited from a weak schedule. I hope this drags them down now and SEC dominates again.

Don't get it twisted. You were irrelevant for years in football until, by no fault of yours, it became legal to pay players. Suddenly you became relevant again. You are simply the richest school in the SEC, not the best. Money Matters now, and you guys simply have the most of it. Congrats now that Championships can be bought and not earned.

Yes, because Auburn, for instance, certainly “earned” 2010

I understand desiring the guaranteed money up front with this extra conference game but wouldn't making the Playoffs (versus not making them) bring in a lot more money than this for the school/conference?

Didn't illinois whoop up on South Carolina in their Bowl...and all the SEC Homer's were saying USC should have been in the playoffs
