Not here to hate on it. I am considering trying a restaurant that specializes in this style of “charred” pizza, I have heard good things. But the photos online show all the pizzas looking burnt. Is this just the way it looks, but it’s really not as burnt as it looks?

Pizza and burgers are similar to me. I like both of them pretty much any way you cook it. I'm happy with any style and don't want to limit myself to just one.

I have had every style of pizza. Sally’s in New Haven is my #1. I understand some don’t like the char on a coal fired pizza.

Thin crispy and cooked in a coal fired oven. I have tried a lot of New Haven pizza in New Haven and even an average NYC pizza is better than the best New Haven pizza.

They've had a couple of places pop up in south florida as part of the max exodus from covid. I like it. It's extra crispy thin pizza.

According to the Yankees here in SWFL, the cheese and crust are not burnt. They are caramelized.

These people waste more time on fighting about "who has the best pizza" that it is ridiculous. NY, NJ, CT, MO, IL. IT'S PIZZA!!! Old people, and their ways. New Haven "specializes in clam pizza". Do with that what you will.
