Anyone hearing this?

For those in the know, how much higher can we expect our bill to be?

An extra $3.50? 350% increase?

We already buy excess energy from outside the state.

Could prices go up, sure. Are they going up because of the data center? Not likely.

They are going to go up, but on the bright side they are also going to use 700 million gallons of municipal water a day.

Well we’re all aware of the first class infrastructure in Entergy’s portfolio. Just waits till you get those inexplicable blackouts cause “the grid” can’t handle the demand.

Meta is paying for most (if not all) of the construction costs for the three power plants needed to run the data center. Allegedly.

It’s 100% happening. It’s unavoidable.

It’s part of the problem but not all of it. Energy demand is just increasing faster than generation can be deployed.

Well, that's kind of true.

Faster than Entergy wants to deploy is probably more correct. Entergy could increase capacity if they weren't beholden to shareholders and corporate red tape.

If they had reliability incentives they would adjust their plans.

It’s across the industry right now. Gas turbines are years out, solar is in customs hell, wind turbines are backordered. And it’s really hard to get project capital with the latest round of Ira/obbb shite.

PUC is the cause for a lot of the problem. They’re reactionary and don’t ever forward look enough. Entergy would love to spend more money, it’s just hard to get it.

All these data centers need the power so expect "Global Warming " to magically disappear.

That’s one resource we should properly monetize, profitize and monopolize. But not the good stuff.

We should all contact our PSC representative for our area and start asking questions now. They are the ones that allow rate increases or not.

They have multiple gas turbine facilities shutdown and will not modernize.

I do het what you are saying, but Entergy is beholden to a bottomline and are holding La hostage for shareholder value.

Depends on who you listen to. Those saying that kind of demand increase coming online won't eventually result in higher rates for the average consumer are lying to themselves, though.

Supply and demand. Demand for natural gas will go up which will cause higher rates. This is why Georgia passed specific laws to protect citizens from the data center power use. And that's why they are coming here.

I thought it was the opposite and Entergy is going to pass the cost into current consumer base.
