With his performance as Sonny.

quote:

“A lot of people didn’t know I did Sonny the Robot in I, Robot, and there’s a reason for that,” Tudyk said. “Because they were doing test audiences with the movie, and they score the characters in this kind of test audience. And I’d got word back: ‘Alan, you’re testing higher than Will Smith.’ And then I was gone. I was done. There was no publicity, and my name was not mentioned.”

He continued: “I was so shocked. I was like, ‘Wait, nobody is going to know that I’m in it!’ I put a lot into it, because he had to move like a robot, so I had to move… it was, whatever it was. At the time, I was very upset.”

Despite Tudyk’s negative experience with I, Robot, he went on to play another robot, K-2SO, in Star Wars movie Rogue One, and later reprised the role in Disney+ series Andor.

Just when you thought Will Smith couldn't get more unlikeable.

I guess “Big Willy style” wasn’t what we thought it was.

As a fan of his since Firefly, I just assumed everyone knew he was Sonny. When ever the Big Damn Heroes showed up in a show or movie, it was something I was aware of in advance.

A Knight’s Tale came out before Firefly.

Also, Will Smith should have kept making movies like Six Degrees of Separation and maybe he’d be in Tudyk territory.

Tudyk is pretty awesome. He absolutely stole Death at a Funeral. He's one of those actors that I'm always happy to see when he shows up.

OK, and?

I've been a fan of his since Firefly. Do you want a medal for knowing about him before? LOL I don't get your point.

Too easy.

The point is Tudyk was in the classic A Knight’s Tale.

Who's denying that? Do you want a Alan Tudyk Super Fan medal?

You’re way too angry for a random Thursday afternoon.

I’m more of a Will Smith should have kept playing Six Degrees of Separation roles Super Fan.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the joke is that he called A Knight's Tale a classic??

Is he saying smith or the studio had him removed?

Why would the studio agree to remove someone who was testing high.

Easy to say anything 21 years later.

Abomination.

I'm convinced there will never be a faithful adaption of his work. As far off as Foundation is from the books, and it's way off, i, Robot isn't even in the same universe. Just name only.

It’s an odd thing to say, true or not. Not something I’d expect to hear from Alan without more to the story.

Granted, it was out of the blue. Was just goofing.

We can let it go and get back on topic.
