There won't be any kind of peace deal out of this. Trump is using it as a ploy and distraction.
The most likely scenario is Trump says "I wanted to see him in person to determine if a peace deal could happen. Unfortunately Putin is a bad man, so we left early."
You don't have to fly to Alaska to determine this.

Ukraine is running out of fighting men. It's over.
Putin does not want anything to do with Ukraine west of the Dnieper River except for Odessa potentially (but probably not). He only wants to annex the parts of Ukraine that have a lot of ethnic Russians. He does not want to deal with the Nazis west of the Dnieper. There is little benefit and a long term pain in the arse.
The only thing that remains in question right now is Odessa all the way to Transnistria and taking full control of the Black Sea.
NATO might not like it but they don't have a choice. Putin will annex a lot of Ukraine. The only question right now is, how much?
And if no peace agreement is made in the near term, Putin doesn't care. Russia has a MIC too. The issue for NATO is Ukraine is running out of fighters and its politically untenable for NATO countries to send in their troops to fight.
This is no cheering for one side or the other. This is just reality.

Well he tried to take Kiev on day one of the war and also tried to take Odessa and was pushed back. That’s when his army was at the strongest and before Ukraine was supplied with advanced western weapons.
Ukraine’s army may be depleted and suck monkey balls but so does Russia’s.

Russian army is much then most think, when the war started Ukraine had largest most well trained army in Europe, that is no longer the truth, Russia has killed most of that group or wounded most of that group.

There will probably be some secret deals and understanding regarding deescalation.
But Trump is slow playing this. This is a ploy. He can't make peace. The warhawks and CIA would destroy him.
So he reports it as a productive meeting and announces a follow-up meeting, all the while hoping for a coup that overturns Zelensky.

Other than leading his nation into a war against an inferior opponent, and totally botching it; he did nothing wrong.
Now he continues to waste thousands of lives in a desperate attempt to realize his goal of rejuvenating the old empire.
