I guess a lot Scottish and Irish folks have red hair so a Brit having red hair isn't that unusual, but it certainly isn't how Bond was originally envisioned and described.
Connery comes the closest. Brosnan also nailed the look although he was probably tad too handsome.

They should make the new James Bond a Muslim, who has to go into prision to infiltrate the gangs then bust out Working with the Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow and fight colonizing evil CEO`s then undermine traditional white british values. By joining grooming rape gangs and realizing the British goverment is behind it, and it really the evil countrymen who are spear heading these secert rape/grooming gangs, instead of the peaceful refugees.

When Craig was cast the Internet had a hissy fit because Bond wasn't a blonde man. He ended up nailing the role to damn near perfection.

He and I guess the directors created basically a new character. There wasn't much connection between he and Bonds of the past. Casino Royale was great, but after that it was one forgettable toad stool after another.
