Not sure how they come up with these precise numbers. It’s nothing like valuing a regular business based on revenue and profit. It’s driven by the supply of available multi-billionaires and their egos. Hell, the LA Lakers just sold for $10 billion, right? A lot of NFL franchises could be north of that.

I used to dislike Jerry Jones a lot. I saw a video about him buying land in California to be near his daughter and it ended up being very profitable.

Also saw he bought the Cowboys and hired his family to be close with him. I think that was actually a landman scene. Either way, and I hate to say it, but I like him a lot.

What did he pay for the Cowboys in the late 80s? $150 million or so? I just remember people thinking it was an outrageous amount. I’d say it turned out pretty well for him.

Try the 70s. Steinbrenner, Jerry Buss bought the two biggest American sports franchises for a Coke and a smile. Going back in time and buying sports property in the 70s would make ground floor Google investors envious.

His most valuable holding is the Dallas Cowboys, which he bought for $150 million in 1989. The team is currently valued at roughly $10 billion.

From Forbes article on ole Jerrah. Can’t link. On phone

How are the rams so valuable as compared to the Pats, Eagles, or Redskins?

Los Angeles I’d imagine.

Besides the Cowboys its entirely based on the stadium worth which is entirely location.

San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Boston have massive property values.

If Dallas actually was put on market, they’d get 20B

I'm sure it's all tied to Stadium deals.

The Yankees were around $6 million. Not chump change even back then.

Art Rooney always kicked himself for not buying them.

If the Giants are valuable based off of stadium and property then what is wrong with the Jets?

The Rams also own SoFi and collect rent from the Chargers as well as profits from any concerts, shows, etc. that use the venue.

I think (but I'm not 100% sure) the same thing applied when the Jets played in what was titled "Giants Stadium" (i.e.: The Jets paying rent to the Giants)...or if it was the old New Jersey Meadowlands, but I'm not 100% sure that the Giants own MetLife outright.

Also the Rams and Giants have been far more successful and have much bigger fan bases than their market neighbors.

I think Buss paid $67 million for the Lakers, LA Kings, and the LA Forum as a package deal from Jack Kent Cooke circa 1979.

Quite the return on his investment.

I don’t believe that list. Saints aren’t on it.
