That's several practices in a row where, it seems to me, people have pointed out Shough playing pretty well

He has the physical tools to be quality starter in the league.

Age and injury history are a concern.

Even if he is not elite and the Saints start him the next three years, at least they can fix their cap sheet with a cheap QB allowing them to move on from Jordan, Davis, Kamara, and a few other bad contracts.

If nothing else, it's worth giving him the start vs. Jacksonville this week. The Saints are still 3 weeks away from opening the season and they already have data on Rattler in NFL games. They have just a few preseason series of data on Shough. Why not give him more of a look this week? If he's not ready, they still have 3 weeks to prepare with Rattler as the starter.

Underhill will also randomly push for Haener at times. His patented mix of troll and contrarian.

He made an incredible come back throw in the Chargers game that was elite.

He was shuffling backwards then whipped it sideways on the back shoulder to the side line for about 10 yards.

Dude has some stuff for sure.

Why is age a concern?? He'll have two less years than most?
If he plays till 38, we'll only get 13 years out of him?? Drew Brees at 25 played 17 more years

It’s pretty crazy. It’s as if rookies can improve from their first day of training camp. Who would have thought?

Imagine that. A rookie getting better as his 1st training camp progresses. Guess all the panic button pushers and "haters" will have to wait a little longer

Lol. Practice reports are always such unreliable BS.

None of the reporters can actually tell who’s performing well and who’s not. Notice that, as soon as we played a preseason game and Shough looked better, reporters are suddenly saying that Shough looks better in practice out of the two.

They have no idea who’s performing better; they’re just going with the flow.

The problem is without top linemen blocking, top receivers playing, top RB playing. How can you see what they have against other teams.

I was told on here that since he didn’t start in the 1st preseason game that this was likely a wasted pick.

I don’t get the whole “injury/age concerns” narrative. He’s had a couple broken bones and he’s about to be 26, not 46. Drew Brees started his career with one of the worst shoulder injuries imaginable, had it repaired, and went on to have a a pretty good career. Not saying Shough is second coming of Brees, but this take has to be one of the dumber ones I’ve seen in a while.
