How long are the episodes? Hour? 42ish minutes?

Trying to decide if I can watch both tonight.

First 2 episodes were great, IMO. The show has shown more clear views of alien moving/killing action than 7 movies combined. It has a great mix of story to action unlike The Last of Us which I liken to how poorly The Walking Dead was done.

Just like Star Wars, give the Alien franchise to whomever did this show just like Andor, give movies and story guidance to Tony Gilroy.

Other than that I'm enjoying what I'm seeing thus far.

This is good. An Alien is already wreaking havoc. Great set up for the characters. I’m interested.

Those blood sucking bugs creeped me the frick out more than anything lol. Definitely some inspiration from The Thing in this adaptation.

Alien and Aliens are must watches because they are classics. I think you would be fine watching this first though. It has explained everything pretty well so far and it would be slightly more suspenseful without movie knowledge.

I love the pace of these episodes plus the opening and end very awesome combination of scene and music. Well written thus far as well, the variety of Alien Lore fauna is a nice touch.

Do we know when this takes place? All it says in the opening text is “in the future.”

Okay, so immortality is designed as Cyborgs, Synths, and Hybrids.
Cyborgs: cybernetically enhanced humans.
Synths: artificially intelligent “beings.”
Hybrids: synthetic beings downloaded with human consciousness.

Man they are REALLY trying to replicate the same level of characters from the OG Alien movie. There’s a Yaphet Kotto lookalike and also a Kane lookalike. shite, there’s even a cat.

The scene with the black dude and the xenomorph in the security/lights room was cool.

Seems a little ridiculous that earth didn’t see this ship coming in advance and wasn’t prepared for it.

I assume this black dude (Morrow) is a cyborg since he needed oxygen under the floor.

This whole hybrid subplot with Wendy and the other kids is sort of weird. Not sure I like it yet. I like her I guess, but not really them as a group.

How does this soldier/S&R dude not feel that creature crawling down his neck and back? He’s even saying “I can’t get it off me” as he sits there and literally isn’t moving or doing anything to try to get it off of him.

Weird that Morrow is against these soldier dudes. I assume because Prodigy is a rival to his company?

So Timothy Olyphant isn’t human.

All in all, decent first episode. And I’m all the way in for an Alien story on earth. Interested to see where the next episode goes.

This! It exceeded my expectations, which were high. The production value is amazing.

And the xeno is eviscerating folks like never before depicted. Mix in the other creatures and I’m loving it.

Yeah television has come such a long way. That was movie quality and a very good first two episodes. Also, great song choices to end both episodes.

Sydney Chandler also didn’t realize she was Coach Taylor’s daughter

so, I have seen Alien, Aliens, Prometheus, and Covenant. Seen Alien countless times as it is one of my favorite movies ever. Aliens is great too but I preferred the horror aspect of the original versus the action shooter that Aliens was. Only seen Prometheus and Covenant once. I also don't recall if I have seen 3 or not.

All that to say...I want to do a rewatch of the entire series after all of the Earth episodes have been released. Might even bring in my 9 year old to watch for the first time as well. Is the recommendation to watch in order of release or is there some Star Wars-esque suggested watching order, whether it's by chronology, release date, or hybrid of the 2?
