Would you rather live in Tyler Texas or San Antonio?

San Antonio is slowly becoming a big city while Tyler is still a solidly small one.
Both offer a bit of different things. Tyler has the southern culture / east Texas vibe, San Antonio is near the hill country.
Both have ghettos(nothing too bad I don’t think) and very nice areas. Which would you prefer?

Tyler is a very strange place. SA wins, for me.

You call that living?
If forced to choose, I’d say San Antonio for sure

Tyler. I dont care about nightlife or cultural activities. I just want peace and quiet.

San Antonio. Great golf courses, great fishing. Great Mexican food. Fun entertainment if you want it. Nearby Texas hill country.
I honestly can’t think of one reason I’d want to live in Tyler.

San Antonio, but more specifically the northern suburbs.
Tyler is beautiful and awesome but there isn't a whole lot of job opportunities for me there. San Antonio on the other hand is one of the best cities for my career field.
I prefer small cities but I work in tech and don't have a lot of connections. It was always harder for me to find employment in these smaller areas.

There is nothing like San Antonio/Austin anywhere in the US. Would I live in San Antiono? Hell no. Would I live in the Hill Country? I do. Unfortunately Guadalupe County is screwing New Braunfels, which is located along the county line but primarily in Comal County. Long story but Guadalupe county officials are straight running pieces of shite. Boerne, Spring Branch or Bulverde are the places to be if you are attached to San Antonio
Tyler? If you want a decent sized town and a slow-paced life it’s a fine city. Tyler is as cliquey as the coon-arse Louisiana towns, you either suck up and fit in or you will never truly be accepted. They are a bit strange but as it grows the society is diminishing.

Tyler.
Actually a prefer a place with less than a dozen traffic signals and a traffic jam consisting of 3 log trucks in a row.
As for Mexican food, every town with 2,000 people have a couple of a mom and pops. They're all supplied by Sysco anyway.

I mean, it’s the 7th largest city proper in the country. It’s been a big city for some time.
It probably just depends on what you want. All things being equal, jobs, income, etc…it comes down to big city or small town. You could still find a smaller place outside of SA, but the Hill Country is no longer a hidden secret. It’s booming too.

Tyler has all the big city problems, if you know what I mean, without the big city amenities.
