“Campus game day atmosphere getting destroyed bit by bit.”

It’s been going downhill since 2004.

If there is one thing I HOPE LSU learns from ULL is how quickly you can ruin the fan experience and tailgating for fans with these changes.

ULL tanked the tailgating crowd with just 2 bullshite changes. Got rid of the "free" spots and moved the "free" spots to Narnia.

The LSU administration has taken the fan base for granted for well over a decade. They just assumed everyone would keep showing up with the same fervor no matter how much it cost, how many ads we have to look at, or how tailgating has become significantly more expensive and difficult. To some extent, they’re correct. But it’s a fraction of what was once an incredible experience. And that’s something that will never come back

The purpose of LSU is to educate students and innovate for the state. Tailgating is not, and should not be, even a tiny consideration in how LSU uses its property.

Those of us who love LSU sports (I have season tickets in 4 sports) should quit acting like any building at LSU is some kind of attack on the sports culture at LSU.

Is this the section of Old Front Nine that’s adjacent to Touchdown Village?

The entire tailgating scene has been fricked for this season. Old front 9 jacked up. RVs moved from TD Village to baseball lot 408 and part of 409 due to the construction. We, along with many others, have been displaced and are left to figure out where to try and tailgate.

The allure of LSU gameday was killed when they banned parking/tailgating on Nicholson.

Since Skip Bertman took over, honestly. Had a conversation with him about it in 2001 ish. He started by pulling the students off the court at basketball and then made as many pay lots as possible. GOAT baseball coach, shitty AD. Maybe it was inevitable, but has ruined the entire atmosphere IMO. And maybe it was inevitable because that's how you make money, but I believe the atmosphere also contributes a lot to the making money part (winning) and it has totally killed the atmosphere/experience. Too corporate

The campus is designed to accommodate students year round, not just on 7 Saturdays. Tailgating is secondary to what's important for the University, get over it and adjust accordingly on gamedays. Geaux Tigers!!!

Have you been to other SEC schools? We were one of the very last ones to institute paid parking on campus.

How the hell do you expect them to generate revenue? 250k people would come to campus on a Saturday and literally ravage campus. I’ve seen people clearly drive over landscaping to park trailers. The public doesn’t own the right to destroy campus on gameday at a public university.

The parking fees give the athletic department the funds to fix all the parts of campus that the public fricks up after home games.
