Love this Song and the lyrics are so Brilliant IMO

Na nanana na nanana na na
Na na na na nana
Ah ah ah...

You shootin' glances and they're so hard to read
I misconstrue what you mean
Slip me a napkin and now that's a start
Is this your name or a doctor's eye chart?

I try and comprehend you but I got a dyslexic heart
I ain't dying to offend you, I got a dyslexic heart

Thanks for the book, now my table is ready
It's a library or a bar
Between the covers I judge you as ready
A half-angel, half-tart

I try and comprehend you but I got a dyslexic heart
I ain't dying to offend you, I got a dyslexic heart

Do I read you correctly, you need me directly
Help me with this part
Do I date you? Do I hate you?
Do I got a dyslexic heart?

You keep swayin'... what are you sayin'?
Thinking 'bout stayin'?
Or are you just playin', making passes
Well, my heart could use some glasses

Na nanana na nanana na na
Na na na na nana etc

Deep heart, I gotta deep heart, deep heart, ah ah ah

Are you stayin'? What are you sailin'? Well are you swayin'?
Just playin', making passes
Well, my heart could use some glasses
I try and comprehend you but I got a dyslexic heart

Do I read you correctly, I need me directly
Help me with this part
Do I love you? Do I hate you?
I got a dyslexic heart

Deep heart, a deep heart, deep heart, a deep heart

Na nanana na nanana na na
Na na na na nana

What are the clever lyrics?

99.9% of rock lyrics look like jr high school doggerel when printed out on the page. This song would appear to be no exception.

Do I got a dyslexic heart?

Spring is here, a-suh-puh-ring is here
Life is skittles and life is beer
I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring
I do, don't you? (- Course you do)
But there's one thing that makes
spring complete for me

And makes every Sunday a treat for me
All the world seems in tune on a spring afternoon
When we're poisoning pigeons in the park
Every Sunday you'll see my sweetheart and me
As we poison the pigeons in the park

When they see us coming
The birdies all try an' hide
But they still go for peanuts
When coated with cyanide

The sun's shining bright
Everything seems all right
When we're poisoning pigeons in the park

We've gained notoriety
And caused much anxiety
In the Audubon Society
With our games
They call it impiety
And lack of propriety
And quite a variety

Of unpleasant names
But it's not against any religion
To want to dispose of a pigeon

So if Sunday you're free
Why don't you come with me
And we'll poison the pigeons in the park
And maybe we'll do
In a squirrel or two
While we're poisoning pigeons in the park

We'll murder them all
Amid laughter and merriment
Except for the few
We take home to experiment
My pulse will be quickenin'
With each drop of strych'nine

We feed to a pigeon
It just takes a smidgin!
To poison a pigeon in the park

Sweet Lucy was a dancer
But none of us would chance her
Because she was a samurai
She made electric shadows
Beyond our fingertips
And none of us could reach that high

She came on like a teaser
I had to touch and please her
Enjoy a little paradise
The lock was in my pocket
When Lucy met the rocket
She never knew the reason why

I can't deny it
With that smile on her face
Oh it's not the kill
It's the thrill of the chase

Feel it coming
It's knocking at the door
You know it's no good running
It's not against the law
The point of no return
And now you know the score
And now you're learning
What's knockin' at your back door

Sweet Nancy was so fancy
To get into her pants
We had to be the aristocracy
The members that she toyed with
At city club were something in diplomacy

So we put her on the hit list
Of a common cunning linguist
A master of many tongues
And now she eases gently
From her Austin to her Bentley
Suddenly she feels so young

I can't deny it
With that smile on her face
Oh it's not the kill
It's the thrill of the chase

Feel it coming
It's knocking at the door
You know it's no good running
No it's not against the law
The point of no return
Now how you know the score
And now you're learning
What's knockin' at your back door

Sweet Lucy was a dancer
But none of us would chance her
Because she was a samurai
She made electric shadows
Beyond our fingertips
And one of us could reach that high

I can't deny it
With that smile on my face
Oh oh, it's not the kill
It's the thrill of the chase

Feel it coming
Knocking at your door
You know it's no good running
No it's knocking at your door

Knockin' at your back door

"I love you, you love me. Going down the sugar tree. We'll go down the sugar tree, and see lots of bees: playing, playing. But the bees won't sting, because you love me."

For me, it is this one. Great use of so many ambiguous terms we use daily in the English language.

Penetration
Pedro the Lion

Have you ever seen an idealist with gray hairs on his head?
Or successful men who keep in touch with unsuccessful friends?
You only think you did
And I could've sworn I saw it too
But as it turns out
It was just a clever ad for cigarettes

Cause if it isn't making dollars
Then it isn't making sense
If you aren't moving units
Then you're not worth the expense
If you really want to make it
You had best remember this:
If it isn't penetration
Then it isn't worth a kiss

And we're so sorry sir, but you did not quite make the cut this time
And we'd appreciate it if you cleared your stuff all out by five
Don't take it personal
Everyone knows you did your best
If it makes it easier you should look at it from our perspective

Cause if it isn't making dollars
Then it isn't making sense
If you aren't moving units
Then you're not worth the expense
If you really want to make it
You had best remember this:
If it isn't penetration
Then it isn't worth a kiss

Eve6 - Open Road Song

Tonight I feel ambitious and so does my foot as it sinks on the pedal
I press it to the floor
I don't need a girl, don't need a friend
Cause my friend lonesome's unconditional
We're flying forever bored
And for a moment I love everything I see and think and feel
I love my broken side view mirror
Cause it's so perfect, I'm so perfect, you're so perfect, you're not here
I hear the change in gears

My pile shakes as I hit eighty on the open road
This is an open road song

The night is beckoning although I have nowhere to go but home
Feels good to be alone
With every turn comes a new frame of mind, if I could frame my mind where would it hang

My pile shakes as I hit eighty on the open road
My pile shakes as I hit eighty on the open road
My pile shakes as I hit eighty on the open road
This is an open road song

I crack a window and feel the cool air cleanse my every pore
As I pour my poor heart out
To a radio song that's patient and willing to listen
My volume drowns it out
Yeah but that's O.K. cause I sound better than him anyway any day
Yeah my voice is sweet as salt
I search for comfort and I find it where I've found it many times before
Times before can be forgotten, yeah

My pile shakes as I hit eighty on the open road
My pile shakes as I hit eighty on the open road
My pile shakes as I hit eighty on the open road
This is an open road song

That's on my playlist for running. Saw them open for Jawbox at the Howling Wolf in the warehouse district back in the 90s. They were really good.
