The Mouse continues to spend money faster than shite through a goose. ESPN will be the home for all WWE PPVs, errr excuse me, Premium Live Events starting next year.

Hell yeah it does. Three streaming apps to watch wrasslin’ now. At this point I’m just waiting for them to announce that WWE Vault will be moving from YouTube to X or something and I’ll have to create an account for that too.

The fragmentation of media has absolutely been a downside of streaming.

I think this tells you that a renewed deal with the UFC isn't happening.
I don't watch wrestling, but having your content spread across three separate streaming platforms is a significant letdown for your fans. While I understand them taking cash up front, this approach will likely lead to a decline in fan interest in the long run.
Also, is the content going behind the ESPN+ paywall, or will it be an additional fee for each event?

Says it’s 300 a year, no sure that includes access to other premium level streams. If not their viewership will take a huge dip

Was about to say this is probably with the money theyre going to save from not renewing with UFC lol

it's not on espn. it's on the new espn DTC that is coming out. Nick Khan was on Ourand's pod and said it's included in the DTC subscription. so you are getting the espn channels, redzone and wwe ppvs on the same service.

Well that sucks. I haven’t watched WWE since HS but I have tuned into the recent wrestlemania and summerslam since it was free on peacock. Guess I’ll never watch another WWE event. Oh well. Life moves on.

yeah i like the premium live events, but not enough to pay 30 bucks a month. i can get all that stuff instantly on X anyway.
too many crappy womens matches to sit through anyway.

I thought Netflix just got the right recently? Was that a one year deal or something?

Lot of low income people watch it. Lots of suits will be stunned when a good portion of their base simply can't afford what they charge.

Remember the days when cord cutting and streaming would save you money?

But I just canceled ESPN+ after Major League Rugby season ended. I don't want to have to sign up for ESPN year round.
I'll just go back to illegally streaming/downloading the shows.
