Former LSU Quency Wiggins receiving terrible advice… - fixed the link

If you were an NFL team, would you want this guy? Sounds like Deion coddled him and now he’s receiving terrible advice. Also shows the cancerous leadership we had on this team that CBK has outlived and worked out.
Showed a bit of promise here and wish him the best but come on. Prove yourself on the field and demonstrate some self-leadership.

That article has literally nothing to do with what you posted

I don't think you linked the right article

What exactly are we talking about here?

OP was attempting to link this article that was written by someone (or some AI) that clearly hates Kelly.

Quote from Wiggins
It's the author that (again) spews nonsense and makes it seem like Wiggins was shitting on Kelly

Four-star Baton Rouge, Louisiana EDGE Quency Wiggins had seemingly the perfect storybook ending to his high school career: switching sports from basketball to football and joining his hometown LSU Tigers.
Wiggins wasn’t ready for so much so soon, though. And notoriously player-unfriendly Tigers coach Brian Kelly didn’t make him feel welcomed in the slightest.
That’s why all it took was meeting Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders once to make Wiggins realize he chose the right path, leaving LSU and the Deep South behind for the Rocky Mountains in Boulder via the Transfer Portal.
Quote from Wiggins
quote:He doesn't really say anything wrong. Just that he didn't have people to show him the ropes and push him at LSU. Sure, fine, whatever. Deion is a players' coach. Kelly is a program builder. Nothing wrong with either of those approaches.
“I started off my junior year in high school when I first picked up a football in general. I was a hooper at first. A coach at Kentucky came to me and said, 'If you played football, I'd offer you right now.' Instantaneously, I went to learn a little football or whatever. The recruitment process picked up for me, I ended up going to LSU. It was a rough process switching from high school to college in such a short time and not even having that much experience,” Wiggins said in a “What's Your Story?” interview, per SI.
“Out of the gate, I was already behind, so I kind of needed somebody to believe in me and push me and just show me the ropes. I feel like over there (LSU), I didn't have that.
“I made the change over here to Colorado, and that's where I met 'Coach Prime.’ Instantaneously, he showed me love. He reassured me and let me know that I can be a player. When I was losing a little bit of faith in myself, he made sure to lift me up or whatever, just always (sharing) uplifting words to me. That's how I'm able to just go out there and work hard for him every day.”
It's the author that (again) spews nonsense and makes it seem like Wiggins was shitting on Kelly
quote:
Kelly can have his “Million Dollar Match Challenge.” He can have his top-rated 2025 transfer class. He can fake all the Cajun accents he wants.
If he can’t connect with players, Kelly will never get more out of his players than their baseline talent level. He’ll also never retain the players he was able to nab via the university’s donor class’s donations.
And if he can’t make a run to the College Football Playoff entering his fourth year in Baton Rouge, LSU may find someone who can do those things.

I hate "journalists" these days. I understand everybody has theor voice, but to take a whole section of an article to shite on a coach for no reason is just classless. Especially when the article isn't about him.

Who the hell is jack carlough

He logged 1 tackle last season. 6 total in 3 years. Maybe it wasn't Kelly or LSU.

Ah, thank you. Pasted the wrong link.

I feel for the kid. I think when the transfers come in the developmental guys get left behind if they aren’t improving fast enough. BK is under a lot of pressure so he might have given up on him

Those quotes didn’t really sound like blaming Kelly, more so explaining why he transferred to Colorado. Timing wise, he probably should have never come to LSU. We needed guys that could come in and immediately provide value and make an impact, not guys who have only played 2 years of football.

Wiggins played 20 snaps all season in his 3rd year in college on a mediocre defense that had 1 player drafted. Maybe he was the problem.
He was highly unlikely to contribute early in college because of his lack of exposure to football. Everyone fell jn love with measureables and athleticism. He hasn't panned out

Nothing wrong with anything Quency said in that article. He was explaining how he felt during his time at LSU. I didn’t see anything too bad.

"Jack Carlough is lead reporter for Colorado Buffaloes on SI. Jack graduated from the University of Colorado" Never ever trust stories written by reporters covering a particular university as their beat. BTW, that includes LSU reporters also. I believe there is a term for those university based reporters...oh yeah, "HOMERS".

So, the kid wanted someone to reassure him everyday? Maybe LSU wasn't a good fit for him and I'm okay with that. No one should have to reassure a grown man that he's doing everything right. Put in the extra time and work, and you'll see the results.

Unfortunately, everybody at this level in the SEC has measurables and athleticism.

He played mostly on special teams.
He is quoted as saying he needs someone “ to push him”. He is looking for someone to blame. Lacking the drive to push yourself to be your best, rarely ends well.
