Are we better or worse today than we were to start last season before all the injuries?

I honestly have no idea but I hope the loss of CJ is offset by the play of Poole and Bey. Bey is a guy that really interests me. He’s another solidly built guy that has some dog in him that we haven’t had since Naji went to Dallas. I think we eventually get Queen involved a bit but Fears probably needs this year to grow and work on his 3 point shot in the G league.

We turned CJ/BI into Poole/Bey and our PG is still hurt
we most likely got worse unless Missi has taken a huge leap

They trouted out Theis, Javonte Green, and JRE early on. Are you serious? That depth chart was non-existent.
Then they played guys after guy off the streets. Jalen Noel, Jamal Cain, Trey Jemison, Mo Bamba, Keon Brooks, Quinones, Elfrid Payton, Brandon Boston who is looking like he's going overseas.
The roster was so poorly constructed and they couldn't sustain with any kind of injury that occured.

Last season, David Griffin's roster was constructed to contend. The goal was to get us to the trade deadline in playoff position, and then we could upgrade at center to add the final piece.
This year's roster is not as good, but it would be close if Dejounte Murray were healthy. We did get younger -- I think that the whole roster is under 30. But the two high draft picks indicate a soft rebuild with the goal of becoming a contender in a couple of years if Fears and Queen turn into the players that Dumars thinks they can be.

We're worse than we were last year before the season started. The center spot was the glaring weakness last year and perhaps it has marginally improved, but now we've got a huge hole at PG and while CJ and Poole is probably a push, BI is definitely better than Bey.
Last years team was more of a contender going into the year, but terrible health just derailed the season almost immediately.

We lost virtually our entire bench last year with Dyson, Naji, and Nance who were big part of our rotation. Not to mention losing JV without replacing him with a viable starter.
We had one of the worst benches in the league last season while we had one of the best in 23. That 24 team was always going to fail with the unbalanced construction with a monster hole up front.

We are probably 11th or 12th in the west. Just outside of the play in That’s where most have us projected and I tend to agree. I knew we wouldn’t be good this year What’s really gonna be bad is watching the Hawks draft our top 5 draft pick next year with our pick. Thanks Dumars

Can’t understate how bad the Dyson trade turned out

I want so bad to disagree but I just can’t. Now if Dejounte comes back say Dec 1st a d he’s able to contribute 20-24 min a night of solid play then that can make a huge difference. The same with Bey. He has a chance to be a 25-27 min a night guy off the bench. Center has to get figured out though. I don’t mind at all if the 5 is where Queen needs to play because that puts Bey or Karlo as the bench 4. If Queen and Missi and Zion for that natter are smart they will watch and listen to guys like Looney. I wish Karlo could throw on 15-20 lbs of pure muscle because I think he has the talent to be a starter one day if he can be aggressive on the glass and hit the corner 3 at at least a 37% clip.

I don't. I'm just hoping that he can develop into a quality rotation player.

Some people on here knew at the time….
Bad thing all the additional assets we lost caused the fricked up trade with Queen. We probably still have our pick next year if we hung on to at least one of those firsts.
But like I said, I wasn’t trading DD unless a real star was involved…

Better chemistry. Less talent.
I’m excited to see what a Pels team can do that doesn’t have to feed Ingram his 30% usage and CJ his 27%. Maybe we can actually see a semblance of an offense this year.

Well if we are worse at least we got a protected draft pick to lean back on……. Whoops wait a minute.

I wanted a shakeup and want to say yes, but my head says no. Poole, Bey, Fears, does not excite me more than CJ, BI, and healthy Murray. Definitely had higher hopes going into last year. Basically zero hopes of even making the play in this year.

Considerably worse from a pure talent standpoint. Locker room chemistry is likely worse, too.

I think we are dramatically better, in terms of talent and balance. We have a solid starting 5 and a good bench unit that will only get stronger as the season goes on. That isn't even counting 3 rookies that can shake everything up. We will get Murray back for the stretch run to end the season..

Please send Pels to another city. Bring in WNBA team. Much more enjoyable to watch.
