Bought a used boat… looks like my trolling motor/accessory batteries are shot (2018 date stamp).

Recommendations on reasonably priced options? I know I know Bust Out Another Thousand….

22ft Xpress running a 24v trolling motor, radio, and hummingbird. Nothing crazy.

I’ve always used Delco Voyager batteries, would buy them from the dealership I worked for. Were very good, never had any issues…

Amazon link

I bought these on recommendation from a friend who uses them on his boat for 24v trolling motor. No complaints. Have an on board charger hooked to them.

Get lithiums and don’t look back.

I have Litimes and they are light years better than lead acid batteries and a third of the weight. You should be able to get a decent pair for around 200 per battery.

Another vote for Lith, I put these in my boat and no complaints at all. The "mini" size (100AH) is light weight and easily fits anywhere.

Thanks for all the replies. This might be a dumb question, but I assume I will have to swap my on board charger for one that will charge lithium batteries, correct?

Are lithium's good for cranking or just for trolling?

Yes, will need different charger. I also have a 24v 50ah Litime. I bought the charger that was recommended from Litime

You’re looking for a 65ah lithium and charger. Most Li batteries have a min 5 yr warranty and some 10 yr. Zero drop off in power as opposed to lead/agm.
You’re going to love batteries again.

Some are, and it depends on your motor charging system. I use a lithium starting battery for my Pro XS 4 stroke. It's fantastic.

If you’re a member at Costco or Sams I would just get some lead acid from there that fits your specs.

Lithiums are great for trolling motor. I have some. You’ll drop a bit more coin than lead acid because you will need new battery charger as well.

I got three of these from Sam's last time I did a complete replacement. They show them at $135 each now.

Bought a new 24v MK Terrova this year. Bought this brand battery through Amazon. I have the same brand in a 12v to run my livescope.

Duracell or any other mid level AGM for crank.

Yall trust the Lithium batteries in boats? I just have a bad feeling about them being unstable.

I need to replace my 36v trolling motor batteries and am considering switching to lithium.

Absolutely.

There's so many people using them and I do not see problems being posted anywhere. Mine have been flawless.

I trust them for trolling motors. Still not convinced I trust them for cranking/house loads. Seen a few where BMS locks out battery for random reasons and can’t start boat.

From a catching on fire standpoint they should be fine. LiFePO4 is much safer than Li-Ion

All of this is correct.

They shouldn't be used for cranking batteries or critical electronics but lithium's are the correct answer for everything else. Everything about them is much better than lead acid batteries EXCEPT the necessity of a battery management system.
