Would you go to a public shooting and shoot range next to a person you don't know?

Think about the possibilities in this day and age.

You haven’t lived until you’re shooting at the range in the Tuskegee National Forest and a car full of black dudes show up with AR-15’s.

Indoor, air conditioned range? Absolutely
Outdoor without climate control? Maybe not.
But, I have been on many different military ranges during qualification, and had no issues with people that never held a rifle, much less fired one…

You stand next to me in the grocery store, why not train next to me at the range?

I go to an indoor range all the time. My favorite is when the dude next to me had to correct his friend before firing because the switch was still on the Glock. My wife asked if that was illegal, and I told her maybe he's an FFL and SOT.

Not even close, these are the most fun dudes at the range.

Be nice if you gave a little context. You talking at the range?

Do you stay locked in your basement? Bad stuff can happen at the range sure, it can happen anywhere though and if someone does go nuts at the range and you're next to them seems like you can quickly stop them.

I do all the time. Some of the worst people at the range I use are from the 101st on Ft. Campbell. Some of the best are the 5th group guys also out of Ft. Campbell. Well, 5th group and Amish Tim. Amish Tim has some amazing guns he built.

What exactly are you worried about happening?
If someone is going to start shooting up a place a shooting range with a bunch of armed dudes is a pretty terrible choice to make
For a lot of people the range is the only place they have to go shoot their guns you'll be just fine

Yeah I got to shoot a S&W 500 at CMP park in Talladega a few years ago. I was packing up getting ready to leave and heard/felt something that shouldn't have been on the pistol range. So did everyone else. That guy spent probably 20 minutes showing it off and letting people shoot it if they wanted to.
It was awesome.
Also had a guy let me shoot his FN Five-seven when they first came out.

The public rifle range I've been to a few times is staffed by range officers who don't play. They watch everyone like a hawk with very strict well-communicated rules. If you accidentally point your gun at someone don't be surprised to get your cap peeled.
