If there was definitive proof that aliens were headed to Earth

and would be in Earths orbit within the next 4 years but we would not know their intentions until they were here. How would it change your outlook? Would you lose all believe in everything you've know to date? would you change how you live your life? Prep for the possible alien wars?
I can't see my life changing much or my beliefs being shattered or anything.
I think honestly, I would try to plan for the worst case scenario but at the same time realize likely there is nothing we could do to stop whatever it is they planned to do because anyone/thing that was capable of space travel of that magnitude would be light years ahead of us in technology.
I think mainly I would make plans and preparations for the utter anarchy and chaos that would ensue on Earth long before they got here. I feel like there would be a lot of people planning to throw the laws out the window and live it up by doing whatever they wanted to others around them before their eventual death.

I would start taking better care of myself to make sure I was still around to see it. I would retire about two weeks before arrival to have the free time to take it all in. Already have plenty of ammo.

There isn't really anything we can do if they're hostile. They'd have the high ground and could just shell us into oblivion from orbit.

You have to think that if they came all this way it would be for some resource Earth had, possibly to occupy it if they were fleeing their own planet. Maybe they wouldn't want to blown it up or risk making it unlivable.
I think our only hope would be biological, either natural viruses/bacteria or engineered. I doubt we would be as concerned with the possibility of making the planet unlivable if we were facing an extinction event.
We really wouldn't know why they were here to of they were hostile until it is likely too late, but one would have to assume that if they came all the way here it would not be good for humans

This is why I liked district 9 so much cause it made em seem weak and not superior to us at all.
