I have a PS5 but I mainly play classics on it and use it for Spotify YouTube and Netflix at present.

I've sought out a perfect run on mega man X and the original Castlevania. Neither are easy.

whats a perfect run?

I loved the mega man games on nes when I was a kid but I cheated, those games were hard a frick. Platforming game where everything knocks you into pits

I bought a switch 2 but have only used their nintendo swtich online to play Windwaker and Earthbound.

Love playing the NES mega man games and castlevania 1-3. I actually now am wondering if those are on switch online.

Castlevania 1-3 are in a Konami collection which typically goes on sale for about $5.

Contains those three, Super Castlevania IV, Haunted Mansion (arcade game), and some of the Gameboy versions, amongst others.

Ive been collecting retro consoles and emulators for a while but just started to really dig into some of the older stuff I missed or never finished as a kid. Just finished up the first 3 Silent Hill games and 3 of the old 90's Shinobi games.

Not the most retro of games, but I recently had an intense craving to play Knights of the Round (1991) and was happy to see if it is available in the PS store.

Looking forward to reliving the days I spent in the arcades playing it

If you haven’t already, consider buying either the Capcom Stadium 1 collection or the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Collection.

Knights is in both and there are a bunch of other good games in each too.

Is this on the ps5? I was hoping to get back into beat'em up games.

Also how amazing are "saved states" in the retro games. My younger self would have loved it. Wish the game genie did that somehow!

A search says both are on PS4. Not sure about compatibility because I don’t have a PS5.

Thank you, I actually bought the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Collection. Was psyched to see it also includes The King of Dragons!

I do love to pick up an old game from time to time just to reminisce. Let the nostalgia wash over me.

Sometimes i pick something up i used to love and find myself thinking "oof, this didnt hold up well".

I find Captain Commando is a fun one which tends to not get much love.

If you like retro-style games and have not yet played Cuphead, Hollow Knight or Axiom Verge and Axiom Verge 2, you are doing yourself a disservice - especially the AV games, which are basically love letters to Metroid, Bionic Commando, and Rygar.

If you like retro games and want a challenge, pick up the Angry Video Game Nerd collection. Even if you haven't watched or somehow don't care for the AVGN the games are still fun to play, if you enjoy platformers and don't mind getting extremely frustrated. Fair warning that they are designed to be unfair.

Here!

I can’t recommend Steam Deck enough. You can easily set up EmuDeck and have everything up to PS2 play flawlessly.
