This is an extremely encouraging video. I think that the board consensus has been for a January return for Murray, and we might need to move that up a bit.
Update: see new video at the end of thread.

The dude is an absolute dog when it comes to hard work. No doubt he becomes first Pel ever to beat the evaluate in 2 weeks timeline

Very encouraging. Big difference between shooting and playing NBA basketball with an achilles though
Still very good to see

Encouraging, but often with this kind of injury the last 5% of recovery can take almost as long as the first 95%...

For him to be able to do that in July is still impressive as hell. Usually the final part of rehab is strengthening his calf and leg back to where it was before the injury which could take awhile. Good news is, his calf on his injured leg didn't look noticeably smaller which is what KD's biggest issue was during rehab.

Exactly. Theres a loss of strength and time spent off the leg. The quicker one can get back to normal activities, the exponentially less time they need to do the back end part. His being ahead of schedule (to whatever degree that is), only puts him further ahead of schedule in totality.
Now treating any two of these injuries like the same can also be fools gold. Age, body type, etc etc all matter. But I never understood why our fan base acted like he died. Murray will play this year and I think play well. Time will tell.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back on the court in 2025
I also wouldn’t be surprised if they exercise caution and keep him out until January

But does he feel like himself?

Very true but he’s still got 3 months to heal. While I don’t think he’s ready to start the year I could see him ready around Dec 1st.

I'm with you. With how hard Dejounte works at his rehab, and with the progress he's made already, I just don't think it's going to take him more than four more months to get ready to play.

I just really want to see this team fully healthy. If even one of the two rookie 1st can contribute this year and we stay healthy I think this team is an easy playoff squad. No more BI to slow the ball down we should be a fast paced team to help offset our lack of size. The biggest change has to be Zion finally accepting this is his team and maturing to be the leader of this young squad.

I think those days are over. Dumars sounds like the kid gloves are off when it comes to babying everyone. That could totally backfire, but what we have been doing being overly cautious with certain players seemed to trickle down to everyone's mindset regarding injuries.
When players on the team see our front office babying Zion with every little thing, you think that makes them motivated to play through an injury or would they take advantage of that for some rest/time off?

It's also why I'm not so upset that we kept Willie. Last year, between the coaches, players, and front office, there was no one to play bad cop. If Dumars is willing to play bad cop, then Willie playing good cop won't be such a problem. Someone had to hold others accountable, and Dumars is going to do that.

I appreciate this guy giving it his all, especially given his comments about the organization not exactly living up to their end of the bargain....
Maybe he'll fill CJ's spot as the consummate professional on the roster
