My FiL just finished his 4 year degree at 70 because growing up poor he promised his dad he would finish college but life got in the way.
So proud of him.

My brother had maybe 60-70 hours and decided he wanted the diploma. He did some online and a few more hours on campus and graduated at 62 years old.
He was already successful and making great money but he just wanted it.

When back and got my MBA when I was 37.
Was great. Life experience was a benefit and it just felt really easy compared to getting my BS.

I went back after I got out of the military when I was in my early 30s.
Never felt out of place, but then again I was only ~12 years older than the undergrads.
Couldn't have gone better. Bumped up the GPA and finished the prereqs needed to get into PA school

I went back to school in my mid forties. I've gotten an Associates, a Bachelors, and a Masters. I'll be done with a Doctorate here in a few months.

I tried back in 10 after getting out the military then again in 13…didn’t workout well.
I had little to nothing in common with kids in the schools and the 6+ years of not being in a constant learning environment and having a family didn’t help.
Plenty of people are able to do it, but it didn’t work for me

I’m hopefully going to do most online, and continue to run my business until I can finish. Then sell my business.

I got my first degree at 22 in general studies. It didn’t get me anywhere other than teaching so I went back to school at 27 for my Chemistry degree and finished at 30.
No regrets.

You don’t realize how many older people are around you when you’re young and in college.
Sometimes I’ll stop by Gorgas Library to punch out some work if I’m staying in Tuscaloosa for old time’s sake. It’s nostalgic and gives continuity blah blah blah.
BUT, being a little older now, I’ve started to notice all the white haired or middle aged dudes on campus with book bags, in the library, etc. Education has no age limit.

Slightly off topic.
I went to the rotary club meeting as a guest to watch BK speak last week.
Since I arrived early I decided to walk around campus. It’s the first time I’ve been at LSU other than tailgating for a long time. I was shocked at how young the students looked. I’m only 35 FWIW.
