I may be in the minority here but I’m over it. I’ve opted out of multiple leagues. People seemingly can no longer just have a casual league for fun it has to either be “big money” or have some ridiculous obligations for each member.

Then when you are in a casual league with work guys you can’t simply have a brief chat about it without someone mentioning another league they’re in and how they care more about that league.

Fantasy football blows and people ruined it. Come up with a CFB version and I’m all in. I watch so much CFB from Thursday thru Saturday night that by Sunday I’m done with football or minimizing how much I watch.

Not our fault you can’t come up with a cohesive strategy.

We had a good league, but it ran its course after 10 years. Casual and $50 buy in. Was sad to see it go

This is where we are rn. College buddies who used to get together and cook and draft in person. Now we see each other once a year, if that, and draft virtually from wherever we are. Guys dropping out yearly. Almost canned it last year but convinced each other to run it back. Nobody has said a word about it this year so I doubt we’ll have it.

Just part of growing up I guess.

I played for about twenty years, a few those years in two different leagues. Thursday night football ruined it for me. The turnaround was too quick for me and I'd forget to get my roster together in time sometimes and that made playing less fun. I dropped down to one league for a couple of years until finally one year I got the date wrong and missed the draft. That season was so relaxing for me that I never played again.

I quit playing 10 years ago. Started feeling like a chore.

If you could draft a full roster before the season, have the players rated on their actual performance, and then play Madden with your team, I'd be interested.

I love playing it. You get to trash talk with friends, have cookouts and watch some football.

The hell is wrong with that?

Sorry you suck at fantasy football.

I’d rather listen to someone talk about the fantasy league that they care about more than the one you’re in than listen to someone talk about their 7 leg parlay, but different strokes I guess.

I care more about the annual bro/golf weekend getaway we have for our live draft more than actually playing ffb. We will never stop doing it just for that alone.

I won the league a few times.

It’s not just the game itself it’s all the things surrounding it that are annoying to me.

I don’t give a shite about anyone’s other leagues or anyone’s 7 leg parlays. I’m just becoming real anti social with these guys at work.

fantasy football is gay now. Imagine pulling for some player on Alabama or Ole Miss or Tennessee while they are playing LSU. I quit watching NFL in 2020. I enjoy my sunday's now.

I play in a few $100-$200 buy-in leagues, but my favorite is our free trash talk family/friends league. I started playing in the 80’s, and while I preferred the days when you had to actually know something about players rather than picking the right “expert”, I still enjoy fantasy football and look forward to it every year.

Covid caused more virtual drafts. The fun of getting together and drafting was lost for many. Now you got the auto drifters and tbry always seem to do well

Ive noticed the two leagues i run that the urge to play for members is dwindling as we hit our 40s. Had several drop out, combined into one league now, i give us 2 years max until we wont have enough.

The same as others have said, it was great in the 2007-2017/2018 range and interest has slowly eroded since, whether its covid or the virtual aspect. We used to get 10 or 11 of the 12 for each draft to show up, now we are down to 5-7. Not the same. Im to the point each july where i consider just sending a text that its over. And lets just meet up and have a few drinks
