Lafourche Gazette
Very sad day for our community. If you put me in that father's shoes you could just bury me along with the 4 kids. I could not imagine the pain he is going through.
Not mentioned in the article is that he previously buried 1 child. (Saw it on FB). This will make 5 kids he has lost.

DPS Principal Assistant Chief Bryan J. Adams said that at around 1 a.m. this morning, Fire District 1 responded to a call for a house fire in the 100 block of Rodriguez Drive in Raceland.
First responders on the scene located four bodies deceased. One occupant, a 46-year-old woman, was able to get out of the house and was hospitalized.
The deceased are a 20-year-old female, a 14-year-old male, a 12-year-old female and a 6-year-old male. Their identities are being withheld at this time and the Coroner’s Office is investigating the official cause of death.

Really sad… I just don’t understand the lack of having a smoke and/or CO detector. But then again I also don’t understand why people don’t use seat belts. Just makes me sad to read these things.

If I was that 46 year old woman, this captain would've gone down with the ship trying to rescue those kids.
In her defense, I don't know the whole story.

Y’all post the most depressing, heartbreaking shite on here that does nothing but ruin our mood. Nothing good comes from this post so why post it.

Most have them. A lot of times it’s just letting the battery die and deal with the constant chirp.
One of mine went out a few weeks ago in the middle of the night. That bitch was fixed instantly. I’ll never understand how someone can just…. Live with the beep.

Men appreciate this type of news, though we certainly don't enjoy it. It keeps us on our toes, so to speak.
Go to BookFace if you want happy news. Or simply be pro-active for yourself and don't open posts with scary titles.

If it reminds one person to do a battery check on their detectors or even better, one person to install detectors then it's a win. Not everyone has them and maybe they've contemplated getting them but haven't yet.
They're not that expensive

Just brutal.
Prayers for the parents. You should never have to bury your kids.

I’m from the area, but don’t live there anymore. I’m praying for the family especially mom/dad.

This is the first I hear of this and I live a quarter mile away. You know the family?

For the same reasons you read the thread title yet clicked to read about it anyway.

I don't know them. Neighbor said on news he swore he heard the smoke detector going off..
Odd to have a fire at 1am. Wasn't like a space heater or kitchen fire

I just passed and looked down the street and there are cars piled up looking at the house. So sad.
