How long would it take European countries to start fighting each other if the US left?

One theory as to why the US maintains such a strong military presence in Europe is to keep a lid on those countries given their history of fighting each other and to avoid widespread war on that continent.
Do you agree with this theory? If so, imagine the US removed all of her military: Would the European countries eventually fight amongst themselves again and how soon?

Europeans collectively have become too big of socialist pussies to fight any invaders.
Europe will be predominantly Muslim within a century. More quickly, if the Muslims wanted it sooner.

If you are talking about white European states vs white European states within the EU, probably never. They are far too interconnected economically now to risk fighting each other. That was also the original purpose of the EU. They also don’t want to fight each other because WW1 and WW2 were severely traumatic events for the continent. We don’t really have anything that compares to that level of destruction and death at home besides maybe the latter half of the Civil War and even then that was on a smaller scale.
