I would like this boards opinion on Kubotas Zero Turn Mowers

I am looking to retire my old mowerr that has 23498728934298 hours on it.
We have a Kubota dealership here and while my friends are pushing me to buy a Bad Boy, i like the warranty of the Kubota. I know their tractors are good, what about the Zero Turns?

My buddy (Down South Dave on here) has a diesel Kubota zero turn and that thing is a beast

My old man has a 48" with the Kawasaki motor. It's roughly 5 years old and he hasn't had any problems with it. I'll be on the market for a new mower in a year or two and my first stop will be at a Kubota dealership.

I own an older diesel. It's my second Kubota. I purchased a new ZD326 that was incredible except that it overheated after about 30 minutes of cutting after about 3 years of service. Sold it and replaced it with a used, older, and my current ZD28. Think it has around 1400 hrs on it currently. This will last me another 1400hrs possibly. Cut is great.
Pros: They are tanks, they are heavy, they are nearly indestructible.
Cons: They are HEAVY, they ride like tanks, they are slow
I have 15 or so mature 70ish year old live oaks that have natural root upheaval and sometimes make contact with the blades and I don't sweat it.
If you buy new consider the Kubota insurance, it's 2nd to none. Knew a guy that was hauling his BX down I-10, some fool texting ran him off the road and the Kubota insurance replaced the tractor with a new one, including his shredder and box blade.

I have the Kubota 48" with the Kawasaki. It's an absolute tank of a machine. No issues, easy to service, zero percent financing and an incredible insurance deal if something ever happens to it while its financed. I don't know if they all come with the ride comfort seat, but I highly recommend getting it if not. I got mine from Evergreen tractor in Covington and they are great to deal with in my experience. I cant think of any real cons other than that sob is LOUD as most of them are. Highly satisfied here. Oh, I wish I had gotten the 54" deck maybe even the 60.

You can get drunk and drive a tractor in a pond, pay 150 to tow it to the dealership and get a brand new tractor 2.5 weeks later. Ask me how I know

I’ve had great service out of my Kubota equipment. I can’t imagine their zero turns would be any different.

I have a zd28 that's ~20 years old. Overall it's a solid machine. Main issues have been electrical: bad grounds, had to replace the battery terminals a few times and safety switches in the arms.
My next mower won't be a kubota though. It rides really rough (I'm sure newer ones are better), the dealer prioritizes bigger machines when taking it in for service and they tend to be more expensive than similar mowers

Warranty covers mechanical issues
Insurance covers loss (fire theft etc) damge caused by accidents.. driving into a pond, flipping the mower, falling off trailer, crash, rats eating wires, vandalism, etc.... I dont have it on my mower, but has done very well for me on my tractors

I just looked on Farmbelts website but didn’t see any used mowers there but do have a nice 70hp tractor that caught my eye! haha

I have had their 72" diesel for about 7 years and it's been awesome nothing really stops it. I have to maintain about 8 acres with it and it handles it awesomely as long as it's not wet.... which is true of any zero turn wet is bad

Spot on. If your land is low, drains poorly, or is otherwise wet, you will make ruts and/or get stuck. Kubotas don’t lend themselves to getting unstuck sans another tractor, truck, etc. But the cut and ride on that heavy Kubota is much better than on the others. I always brag on Kubota because mine have been so good.

Not true on the residential and commercial gas zero turns, except the ZG series (the OG)
The Z781 might be the finest zero turn made today.

Considering that's about 2.7 billion years of hours i'd replace it with the same brand. You got you money's worth.
