It sucks a little more when it’s a child.

My wife and I have a friend that has a 4 year old little girl and they just found out she has stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma. They were able to remove the tumor but are still waiting for the genetic testing to come back to find out how aggressive it is.

They have been admitted to Children’s and moved from Hammond to Memphis for 16-24 to start chemo/radiation treatments

They have started a Gofundme. If you would like to donate, I know it would mean the world to them.

If you believe in the power of Prayer, and wouldn’t mind throwing one their way, they could definitely use them.

You’re right, it was started by one of her friends. This is from her personal Facebook page
quote:

After a month we finally have her official diagnosis. Stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma. We knew this news was coming and it still brought us to our knees. We ask for specific prayers of strength as we start chemo on Thursday. Strength for Erma to be brave and strength for us to be brave for her because seeing her suffer is unbearable. We would also love prayers over her genetic testing that comes back in a month to give us an idea of how aggressive her cancer is. Many people have asked how to send Erma mail and I know she would love to open cards and send mail to her friends! Our new address is below. Lastly, I have tried to find the words to express my gratitude for every person that has reached out, offered help, donated money, or let me know they were praying for us but I have no words. Every time I see or hear that people are praying for Erma it gives me so much hope! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us! We couldn't fight this without yall! If you feel led you can donate below but most importantly keep on praying for Erma's miracle!

I took out their new address.

If I had one wish, it would be that we spend the same worldwide effort on curing cancer as we did curing covid.

Prayers sent.

I’m bumping this thread due to the fact that when I posted the gofundme, it was pretty vague at the time. I posted it right when she was diagnosed. She has since been admitted to St. Jude’s has endured ongoing chemo and radiation treatments. She’s set for transplant this week.

quote:

It’s been an emotional roller coaster over the past 24 hours. We got Erma’s scans back, and her curie score came in at a 4. That news hit hard. We were so confident, with all the prayers lifted up and how amazing she’s been doing, that her score would be lower. But today, I was reminded that this number is just that — a number — and I know that God is still healing her! When we met with her team, they showed us the scans, and honestly, they look incredible. It’s amazing to see how far she’s come, from not being able to walk to where she is now! Her team was thrilled with her progress and response to treatment! While the official score was a 4, another radiologist on campus reviewed the scans and felt it looked more like a 1 or 2. To get the clearest picture of what’s left in her spine, we’ll be doing an MRI on Monday. Even though the results weren’t exactly what we prayed for, God is still working and still moving. He’s not done with Erma yet, He’s using her and her story in powerful ways! We are forever grateful for your prayers, fasting, and love. You are such a big part of Erma’s healing, and we couldn’t do this without you. ?? And now, we’ve got the green light to move forward with transplant next week.

Is this the little girl that Gnarly Barley did a fundraiser for this past weekend? I've been seeing their posts about it and wanted to get out there but our kid was sick this weekend so we missed it. Praying for the girl and her family. Cancer sucks.

Yes, her mom and dad were actually able to come in for it. It was a good time! Had a great turnout, too.

The proliferation of this coarse, braindead word in conversation is like cancer for the English language.
