Rant of the day: Paying at checkout is annoying these days.

And I’m talking about online and in real life.
Before you pay, they ask you if you like to add these complimentary items? Would you like to buy a warranty to protect your purchase? After you pay, then it’s “you would like to donate to help xyz?”. You would like to give your spare change (even with credit card transactions). We are talking companies worth of hundreds of billions here. Then there’s the tips asking. Then there’s the “we don’t take cash” smug response but they’d be a tip jar. Of course they’ll try to get your email or phone by asking if you want your receipt sent there.
Can i just pay and go? I don’t want to know anything about you or your charity work, and I don’t want you to know anything about me. We’re making transactions, not friendship.

I was disappointed in myself a few weeks ago. I had to go to walmart to pick up a prescription and the girl checking me out is always nice so when she asked if I wanted to give the rounded up amount (which was like $0.40) I gave in and said yes. I was disappointed in myself because I always say no out of principle. The asking for money is out of control.

Sucks less than the gas pumps that prompt you to respond as to whether you want a receipt, a car wash, and a fuel additive -- all b4 you can start the pump.

There is a sports apparel store near me that asks for your email address when they ring you up. Annoys the shite out of me and I never give it to them, but I hate that they ask in the first place. I don't need any extra spam emails in my inbox. Just take my damn payment and give me my shite.

Chances are the pos system wants the cashier to get an email address before they can move on - you don’t have to give them a real one
