I love to hear this... saying he's going to push Casan Evans from the start is bold.

Paz might have been a 1st round pick.. had TJ his junior year of HS (July 2024) and hasn't fully returned to form. Should be good to go by February

He didn’t pitch during his senior year due to arm surgery. We will see how quickly he recovers and gets back

Wouldn't hurt my feelings if he bounced back from surgery like Kade Anderson

Sort of the same story as Kade - having TJ in high school and it costing him some draft position. Hopefully the story repeats itself.

That’s good to hear. Outside of looking and perfect game national ranking I know absolutely nothing about baseball recruits coming in.

Shooter was a great pitcher at Tulane.

He has the most casual and relaxed mechanics I’ve seen from a young arm throwing that hard. When you see him go it looks like he is going to throw it 75 mph and then just absolute lighting

Hopefully he doesn’t have an early birthday like Kade.

LSU is going to threaten a repeat next year and I have zero doubt about it.

Had no idea this kid was that talented. Huge piece to this staff. Looks like a deep staff on paper.

I’m no VP of scouting, but considering your statement, it’s odd he described him as the most college-ready

Watching that clip, i take it as physically ready. That dude is thick all the way up and down. While he has a big frame that can put on more good weight, big shoulders, thighs, etc are there already.

I would probably back off from expecting him to take a weekend role right from the get go, this guy is going to be in his first year back from TJ he had in July of last year, we've seen a lot of these arms take way more than a year to get back up to speed. Kade Anderson hit a big wall his freshman year and he had TJ a few months (April) before Paz (July) had his in relation to when they will be playing at LSU. It might seem like forever, (about 2 years for either) but it just takes time to rebuild back up stamina coming back.

Personally I expect Paz to be a bullpen piece more than anything next season as he works his way back with some spot starts during mid-weeks. Kind of what Kade Anderson did his freshman year here.

I dont know he will be healthy enough to go 80-90-100 pitches in a start every week form the get go.

Shores didnt make it as a weekend starter either this past season coming back from TJ back in 2023. You could tell once he came out of the bullpen he was way more comfortable and his velocity ticked up at least 2-3 mph. Jaden Noot also had TJ back in pretty early 2023.

These things just take time.
