We need to sit back and give BK his credit for what he has done with this program thus far

LSU throughout the years have had there ups and downs, but the stability is getting there. We were a Miss state tier team when BK got here in terms of our roster and setup. He has fixed this in great fashion. Has given us a Heisman winner and a SEC champ appearance. Even then we were a bit skeptical with the defense and such but that has been fixed. I think we are seeing the dividends of this hire and will be seeing great success. This roster coming into this season will be the deepest most talented roster we have had since 2019. And I would argue some spots on paper look better going into the season. We have our NIL in place and we have our coaches in place now. We are starting to strike fear again when teams/fanbases know they have to play us. Talked with 3 Texas fans the other day and they said they are glad they are dodging LSU this season.

I think with everything mentioned it is a perfect storm heading into Clemson where LSU can make a statement to not just Clemson but all the other elite programs. I believe we are entering the 2nd golden age of LSU football.

Sorry about my rant, but I’m ready for Clemson.

The sign of a great coach is one who gives all the credit for wins to the players and all of the loses on himself. Coach BK truly leads the way in this regard, and, for that, but not that alone, i applaud coach BK and love the program direction! Da tigahs finna eat!!

Yeah...he took a team that averaged 10 wins a year for 10 years and in 3 years he has averaged 9.5 wins a year with an extra game. Hurray!!!

He is working damn hard to get us there for sure. It would be nice if we could win an opener.

This is what I called being clueless ladies and gentlemen. If we continued on our path of winning 5-7 games pre Kelly LSU was on the verge of collapsing in terms of an elite program. LSU needed stability to remain solid and bring in talent to re tool and re build this roster. BK has done that and now is his time to prove how good of a coach he is. Do you people not realize how bad our roster was when Kelly got here? Even in Kelly’s first several years the roster was below standards especially on defense and we won 10 and 9 games with a SEC champ appearance.

We went w/o a bowl game and were barely eligible the year after.

The wrong hire could've easily continued that trend.

Not from me. If you pay attention to LSU football you know last years roster was average and the year prior to that. That’s why we saw the 3-4 losses and the season opener collapses. However this year on paper and from all the data LSU will be a great team. LSU can definitely make a statement in this opener and they finally have the roster to do it.

LSU has gone from losing the Texas Bowl before BK to winning the Texas Bowl under BK. You can't deny those results.

I can’t wait for the “this feels like the opener against TCU” or “this feels like the opener against Miami” threads

I think he's done a better than average job of transforming the program for the NIL era. The only variable at this point is his coaching ability. . If we lose the opener like we've lost the last three, looking unprepared, generally clueless and playing without a sense of urgency, then he's never going to get over the hump here. If we show up and grind out a win, blow them out, or even lose a tough but well played game, it's probably going to be a good year.

BK has done a lot for the program in this crazy arse NIL / transfer portal era. He deserves credit.

But end of the day, coaches are most on the line for wins and losses. And he’s underperformed in that sense.

Yes, it has been fixed. Slowly but surely.

2023
13th out of 14 in the SEC total defense
Allowed 416 yards a game

2024
11th out of 16 in the SEC total defense
Allowed 364 yards a game

2024 steps in the right direction and now in 2025 this defense has a way better roster. It will not be a liability like it has been

LBs are better on paper coming into the season. Secondary is pretty close. We have a better TE room. More depth at WR. Better DLine heading into the season arguably as well. Yes there are parts of this team that can be argued better than the 2019 team heading into the season. Now obviously we need to see how it plays out and how players develop.

LSU averaged 9 wins per year in the 10 years prior to BK and that is WITH a 15 win season. They also only won 10 games twice in that time frame and both were with Joe Burrow at QB.

The best 10 year stretch in school history was from 2003-2012. LSU won 107 games during that span and averaged 10.7 wins per year.

Edited because I missed a year in my calculation. We still didn't average 10 wins in the decade prior to BK though.

If things go good and it improved like it did from 23 to 24, we'll be 9th out of 16. That is not fixed. Sorry.
