Democrats find reasons for hope and fear six months into Trump 2.0
by Mike Lillis and Amie Parnes
07/14/25
Nearing the six-month mark of President Trump’s frenetic second term, Democrats are fighting to find their footing and claw themselves from the wilds of the minority in next year’s midterm elections.
...
Not only do polls show the Democrats’ approval ratings at historic lows, but they’re still scrambling to identify a national leader almost half a year after Trump’s return to the White House — dynamics that are raising alarm bells in certain corners of the party.
...
“This is a nightmare scenario for the Dems right now,” the strategist said. “We better pray long and hard that the country is going to be in a f---ing depression, because I don’t know how else we find ourselves out of this mess.”
A new poll by a Democratic super PAC highlights the challenges facing Democrats as they race to regroup in the era of MAGA 2.0. The survey, conducted by Unite the Country, found not only that Democrats have failed to gain ground on Trump this year, but they’re less popular now than they were when he was elected in November.
...
“National Democrats are happy and proud to have socialists, criminals, and antisemitic radicals who chant ‘globalize the intifada’ in their ‘big tent,’” Mike Marinella, spokesperson for the Republicans’ campaign arm, said Thursday in an effort to make Mamdani the face of the Democrats. “This is their party, and every House Democrat is proudly applauding the far-left takeover.”
Democrats have a simple strategy for deflecting those attacks: They’re focusing virtually all their energy and attention on the most contentious provisions of Trump’s megabill, which he signed into law July 4.

as if anyone doubted that these "people" are all about their ideology to the exclusion of any / every thing else

When the only way you see your political party having a chance at regaining some control is through deep economic failure, and then you pray for that, you underscore not only why you lost power to begin with, but why you shouldn't have such power ever again.

Hoping it takes another century or 2 to happen.
In order for any version of this current DEM party (socialist cult) to gain acceptance would require a total failure of economic condition.
It's their only avenue to political power - And all you have to do is trace the slope of their programs since JFK to see it.

They'd rather destroy the middle class than lose a few more seats in Congress.

So basically the same strategy they had prior to Covid.
I remember very well the likes of Cobert and other political commentators praying for the economy to crash. They got something even better.
These people are pure evil.

I don't put much stock in their low approval ratings. The D voter is just angry that their powerless party hasn't magically stopped DJT.
They will still vote for a socialist pedo corpse against any (R) and probably with more fervor than the republicans show up to vote without Trump on the ballot.

Leftist hope things go completely tits-up before every election, and do everything they can to make it happen.

They want Too Late to cause a recession

Democrats want to hurt this country and it's citizens.
It's that simple.
It's that simple.

Democrats have a simple strategy
If they were smart, they would start siding with the likes of Lurch and other center left clowns.

When the left says these things, I always wonder the same thing.

Two points.
1. The Democratic platform's energy policy has always been from the Globalist platform which impacts Americans more heavily financially than anyone else.
2. The Fed's failure to lower interest rates is absolutely 100% political to not allow Trump's economy to gain more steam.

Facts. They don’t mind coming right out and saying it, and their leaders embrace it and cheer it on.

Al Gore, god of climate change.

He sounds just like Bill Maher did during Trump's 1st term. Heaven forbid they could come up with their own plans and policies instead of "praying" for Trump to crash and burn.
