Wilson sign a 4yr 130mil extension with the Jets. I don't know if the Saints will be willing to pay that kind of money, but I would listen to offers at this point if they don't plan on doing so.

See if we can get a 3rd for Olave and move him. $130 M for a player soon to retire due to concussions would be a Saints move.

With his injury history…..
I would NOT pay THAT kind of money.

I like to think even the Saints aren't dumb enough to pay Olave anywhere near that.

I hope.

lol. This has been repeated since this deal came out today. What makes this the floor for Olave? I really like Olave as a player but, he’s truly going to have to come out and show he can stay healthy. I do like signing him to a long term deal but, he has major health concerns with his concussions and if they do sign him they better have an out in his contract due to his head injuries.

4 concussions have a way of doing that.

I would at least try to sign him. I definitely wouldn’t give him $30M per year. I don’t love his concussions but everyone here acts like he’s never on the field. He was a top 25 WR in both 22’ and 23’. And 24’ was a complete shite show. Has he been a slam dunk first round pick? No but that doesn’t mean he’s not one of our best players. You can’t give away your good players for a 3rd round pick because your scared. 3rd round picks are a coin flip chance just to get an average player. Olave is already above average whether you like him or not. Let him play. Negotiate with him and see what happens.

Also why trade him when you just hired Moore and drafted Shough? Who the frick is Shough supposed to throw the ball to?

Olave is an elite 2 not a 1. No thank you.

I don’t understand why teams with no QBs break the bank on WRs

Your statement immediately made me think of this....

If there’s a front office that is stupid enough to do this, it is definitely the Saints and Mickey Loomis.

It would be the worst move we’ve seen to sign Olave to an expensive extension.

He’s a concussion away from being out of the league. As such, I can’t see anyone giving him a long term deal so there should be no competition pushing for it.

You can’t invest in a guy like Olave.

I'd rather cut Olives than pay him 75% of that tbh

Forget Olave, I’m trying to think of how many Saints players I would give that contract to.

If I’m not mistaken Cooks had a bunch of concussions too…especially after leaving the Saints. These small guys have to learn to avoid hits. A bad QB will shorten their career.

Every pass play this year I’ll be nervous with these young QBs.

/ thread.

Olave is a nice player, but with his concussion history there’s just no way you give him anything long term.
