And then transport it all over the country then sell the bags of ice so cheap. Are they even making money on ice?

They mine it from the ice mines of the alps then shape it in their ice factories in Lubbock and Birmingham.
It's shipped all over from there

Cheap gas, ice etc plus clean bathrooms = massive sales of everything else.
It’s privately owned by a family, basically printing money.

Well they don’t have to transport it far. They make it in the back area of the store in their huge ice makers. It’s very similar to these that can put out 5000+ lbs a day each and even bags it for them.

Is transporting ice even a thing?

If you can’t make money on ice even cheap as frick well then, no hope.

The ingredients in ice is cheap and pretty much unlimited…
I’m sure the mark up on ice at most grocery stores is about 200%.

Obviously, they go up to the north pole and cut it into blocks with a chainsaw, then ship it to us.

People don’t realize the amount of visitors each store gets a day. There’s plenty of info online but here’s just a random snippet from the first article on google
quote:
The Warner Robins, Georgia, store saw an average of 7,300–11,700 cars per day. If we assume 2 people per car, that's at least 14,000 to 23,000 visitors per day.

The Daytona Buc-ee's in the past 12 months drew an average of 14,794 visitors a day. That's 616 new customers an hour and more than 10 per minute.

That makes me extremely happy that they suckered the locals into paying for an interstate on/off ramp for their North AL location. I don't have to see the parade of trashiness unless I want to take a parking lot safari to view the Walmart of gas stations, the Carnival of convenience, if you will. It is world class people watching!

How much secret area do they have? Any pics of machines?

I can't fricking believe they put it right off of Browns Ferry. The one time I went last year when the ol' lady insisted, getting out of the lot was a nightmare.

At the magical beaver hut.
It’s like the North Pole but instead of toys they make ice

They have ice makers and employees bag the ice in the back. (Dead serious)
