Rank Your Top 5 Teams of the Miles Era

1. 2006. Team was absolutely STACKED on both sides of the ball. 4 1st rd picks including #1 overall at QB and #6 Safety. If not for the frickjob at Auburn this team rolls Florida in Atlanta and destroys Ohio State in the Championship just like they would a year later.
2. 2011. This is likely everyone’s pick but mine. Defense was the best in school history. Team wasn’t as balanced as 2006 in my opinion. I think 2006 beats them head to head. My opinion only I know most don’t agree.
T3. 2007. Maybe the most entertaining team of the era. Many of those games were just all out wars that this team found away to win more than they lost.
T3 2005. More of the Saban recruits than any roster. Team may have gone undefeated if not for the Katrina factor. However I don’t think Texas or USC gets jumped by us in any scenario. That National Title was what everyone wanted in the preseason and if they were both undefeated that was the matchup.
5. I’ll go 2012. If we have Mathieu we likely beat Bama and maybe Florida and face Georgia for the right to curb stomp Manti Teo and his fake arse girlfriend.
Honorable mention 2013, 2010, 2015.

2011 - win one more game and we become what BAMA became, IMO
2007 - lovable and the epitome of the quotable Les Miles
2006 - Purple Drank superstar
2012 - one fateful drive by Bama flipped a likely championship run into a disappointing season
2013 - coaching did us in. Team was talented AF on paper

In particular order
2006- dont get screwed by a terrible call at Auburn, LSU plays a rematch against UF, and beats them to play in the NCG. That team was freaking loaded.
2007- Good team, got ring but 2006 was way better.
2011-lights out defense, frustrating offense at times. Honey Badger singlehandedly won games.
2005- defense was terrible at first, then started to figure it out during the season. Playing 10 straight weeks took its toll during the SECCG. Made up for it by absolutely dominating Miami, ending its run.

Hard to argue. Patrick Peterson and Mathieu on the same field. Birth of #7 passing the torch.

I don’t think it’s a ridiculous claim to say 2011 was better based on how the game favored the offenses more at the time and a tougher schedule.
Not really a hill to die on. Both were great.

2011 LSU would be considered one of the greatest teams of all time had they not had to play bama. Same goes for Bama. They’d be considered one of the greatest ever had they not played LSU.
LSU’s schedule that year was ridiculously tough and they blew through it with no issues.

I don’t see how you guys are putting 06 any lower than 2. They played three top 10 teams on the road.
4 first round draft picks the following April.

This except I’m gonna flip 2010 and 2012. The 2010 team was badass and better than the 2012 team IMO once Mathieu was kicked off. I always forget that they only 1 loss going into the final week of the season and it was just barely to Cam and Auburn on the road. Sucks that Les just flat out sucked against Arkansas for whatever reason.

Same. I can definitely see the argument for 2011 but I think the 2006 team is more talented than any in school history outside of 2019.
I say the same when ranking the 2011 Saints over 2009.

As bad as he was at times, Les gave us some damn strong teams....

Downvote for 2006 being #1. That’s 2011 all the way.

2016 had natty potential talent. But was wasted trying to have Jennings in a pro style under center
