The OT thinks everything is trashy

That being said, I’ve never personally seen the appeal but not because they’re trashy. Just doesn’t seem fun to me. But to each their own

Last summer was my first one. It’s not for me. I didn’t enjoy it. Just too many people everywhere. I understand why some people might like it though.

I enjoy being on dry land where i can get away from other people when I want to.

On a boat, you're unable to get away.

The only time I want to be on a boat is when I have a fishing pole in my hands.

Only been on one a couple of years ago. Royal out of Galveston which is would I’d imagine would be top trash level.

It wasn’t terrible, but when all said and done, it really wasn’t ‘cheap’ either. Prob wouldn’t go on another one as I’d rather take more of a real vacation.

Only way I’d go on another one was if I was roped in by a large group.

Most of it comes down to the cruise line and the location of the embarkation port.

Example: Carnival out of New Orleans would be worse than Carnival out of Vancouver

The new Celebrity Edge class ships [Edge, Apex, Beyond, Xcel, Ascent] are fantastic. Not crowded, great food, modern vibe.

I've trashed it up on a Caribbean cruise. Go for it

That’s what’s giving me pause. I added up everything (down to Uber tips for to and from Miami airport) and it cost a lot more than at first glance.

this is the best type of cruise. No frills adventure cruising on small vessels.

It was the Beyond. Food was good, crowd was good, ship was nice. Staff really great.

I enjoyed mine, but I flew to Puerto Rico and sailed Royal Caribbean from there. St. Thomas/St. John, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, day at sea, dock in PR

This

When people say cruise here, everyone thinks Carnival.

There's plenty of others and some very nice luxury cruises if you want to spend up.

Carnival out of NOLA and something like Seabourn in the Mediterranean shouldn't even be uttered in the same breath.

The only cruise I’m interested in is making the New York-Southampton crossing on the Queen Mary 2. I simply want to experience what an old fashioned crossing would be like.

I’ve been on 3. All on Seabourn. Smallish vessel. The first two had 225 cabins and the last one 300. Very nice ship. I don’t think I could do a cruise on one of those big ships

Nothing screams fun like being on a ship for a week with a bunch of kids...
