On Tues if they are starting on Friday?
I guess 3 days rest is enough to get an inning

Lol if you think either of those teams will let their aces pitch on short rest in an exhibition.

The Pirates openly talked about how they shortened Skenes last outing so he could pitch in the All-Star game.

Also tells you a lot about the Pirates organization. Wins don't matter to them.

I bet at least Skenes pitches

Skubal threw an inning last year on the same amount of rest actually. I bet they both pitch

that's plenty of rest for the one inning all-star pitchers max out at these days. That's basically their bullpen between starts.

Skenes can’t even win a game so who cares?

They are better off losing for a few years and stacking picks because that roster is horrible both in terms of current roster and mediocre at best with regard to their farm system.

They need at least 2-3 years of solid drafts to be ready to compete as a smaller market team with a low payroll threshold owner.

You look at the Tigers who had to completely rebuild without a big payroll and it took 5-10 years which is why IMO Skenes needs to GTFO or his entire prime will likely be wasted during that rebuild.

Why would anyone let the guy tied for 100th place in W-L pitch in The All Star Game?

To be fair, he has won 4 games... although he has lost 7!

Skenes last full year with the Pirates will likely be '26. I'm counting on a work stoppage in '27 and then he'll likely be dealt before '28 or during that season.

Sadly, I'm a Pirates fan and I've seen this play out over and over for the last 30+ years. I have less faith in the Pirates leadership than I do congress.

In 5 of Skenes losses, the Pirates have scored 0 runs. That's actually pretty incredible.

Andrew Abbott is 8-1 w/ 2.01 ERA and didn't originally make the NL roster

I really think it’s best for all parties for them to trade him.

They could make a deal with the Tigers for example who have an absolutely loaded farm, get two top 10 prospects (Jobe, Clark) add someone else in and they’ve cut 2-3 years off their rebuild and the Tigers are now true contenders for the WS immediately.

Perhaps if Skenes held the other team to 0 runs, they could have racked up a few more wins

All the big name pitchers will be pulled early tonight. That being said, I'll still be complaining like I'm surprised when it happens

Nobody gives a crap about the ASG anymore. Players are routinely opting out like CFB players before a meaningless bowl.

Skenes gave up 2 ERs tonight and picked up his 8th loss as Twins beat the Pirates 2-1. This is getting ridiculous. 4-8 with a 2.01 ERA. 131 K

Skenes career ERA is under 2 right now, lol.
