Beach drama - tent people vs chair service

We're here in Pensacola Beach for the blue angels show this week.
Every morning there has been like 5 or 6 people that will have their tents and stuff set up by like 5:30 am.
Well, today the beach chair service boys got up extra early and not only took most of the spots but also set up almost right at the tide line.
It has been hilarious to watch the tent people come out all bewildered and try and figure out what to do. One of them just said frick it and set up his tent almost halfway into the surf.
I'm sure they'll have their shitty Morgan wallen blaring in no time.

I thought city code was tents must be setup behind flag poles

I’m firmly on Team Tent. But I avoid beaches where you have to compete with chair services

This whole thread is like a foreign language to me.

I rent chairs exclusively. Less shite to haul.

My favorite thing to do at the beach is go down after breakfast and find a gap in the middle of the unused 5 am set ups and shove stuff aside far enough to fit between them and set up shop. You get looks when they finally get their arse down there but no one’s ever said shite.

I like reading these threads just to remind myself that I should be grateful and happy that I am not there today.
I vastly prefer work.

Hate how the chair company acts like they own the beach, but there’s often no good guys in this situation.

The “private beach” v public beach drama has been the whitest thing ever last two years.
I know the 200’ of public beach near us in Destin is hilarious to watch fill up while we sit on over priced chairs unencumbered being serviced by FSU tiki girls.

Team chair.
I have one work event per year where I have to suffer a beach that might have both.
Team tent has a good chance of being the home of shitty loud music and screamed banal profanity-strewn conversations between god-awful looking poors.

I prefer the mountains.
Typically it's peaceful, beautiful scenery, with the sound of water running in a stream somewhere.
But yes, there are asshats everywhere.

Went to a resort close to Siesta Beach this year. They have a private beach where chairs/umbrellas are set up for you with waiters coming by every so often. Relaxing and serene.
Haven’t been to 30A in years and have zero desire to be around that level of trash.

That’s psychotic.

Why people continue to go to public beaches and expect a private experience is always a head scratcher.
Doesn’t matter if you’re the clown with two shibumis and a slam ball arena or the couple who religiously rents loungers.
If one subset of beach goers bothers you, you really need to examine your own personal choices.

Chair companies literally have a contract with every property they set up at that stipulates this. It’s big money, hate it all you want and that’s fine. I get it, but as said tent people get very trashy, very quickly, and very often. So I get both sides.
La Dolce Vita chair company in Destin is owned by Don Carlin, from Louisiana. They are the largest vendor around now as they have bought out a ton of smaller companies.

I agree. I’ve found when it comes to vacationing, there is more value in the quality of fellow vacationers than the actual amenities. You get what you pay for.

The one that bothers me is when you rent a beach front home and the people that rent the 2nd and 3rd tier houses set up right in front of your house.
At least try to setup between houses or in an open area, I paid extra so I can walk straight down the boardwalk and set up.

I think its good to revel in the little things, like remembering that no matter how much work gets on my nerves today, at least im not at the God forsaken beach.
