Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach): The active ingredient that provides the cleaning power, typically at a concentration of 5%.
Trisodium Phosphate (TSP): Another cleaning agent that helps remove stains and dirt.
Water: The primary solvent in the cleaner.
Inert Ingredients: These are other components that help with the cleaner's overall formula and stability.
Surfactant: A substance that reduces the surface tension of a liquid, allowing it to spread and penetrate surfaces more easily.
Ammonia: May be present in trace amounts, potentially as a pH adjuster or for cleaning purposes.

Sodium Metasilicate, you can get a 4lb sack on amazon for $30,,,,a pro who cleans houses told me about this. Mix it with water, spray the fence with water, then this mix, let sit 1 minute then wash it off. I used it on my outdoor ceilings as well and it works great and not corrosive as bleach

My understanding is that while 30 second cleaner / bleach is effective and cheap, it isn’t really the best for the wood long term.

There are better products like deck restoration plus and many others that will kill the mold, clean the wood and not risk damaging it long term.

Yep,and chlorine damages the fibers and strips it of natural oils and the look fades quickly.
Save the chlorine for the driveway

I used sodium metasilicate to clean and then finished with oxalic acid to bring back the natural color.

5 parts water with 1 part coil cleaner. This mix will clean fences, decks, siding, brick, stucco, concrete, etc.

I put up a white metal fence around my property over 25 years ago and once a year I will pressure wash it since it does get some green mildew on it along one fence line.

I just mix some chlorine bleach with water in a 50/50 mix in my pump sprayer and hit sections of the fence with it and let it set for about 15 minutes and then come back with the pressure washer and that will clean the hell out of it.

Before that, I had a wood fence made out of treated lumber and I'd do the same with that one. It was amazing how new the boards looked after it was cleaned.

Thanks,I did alot of research at the time.
Was going to start a side business and this was my test run.
While satisfied with the result I knew I would get sick of it pretty quick .

Just wet the grass before hand.
You just pump spray on the fence, and the rinse off/pressure wash has enough water to dilute and not hurt the grass.
