Come on Lady and Gentleman. We lose one game to the shite bag Indians and nobody wants to take the thread. The Sugarston Space Skeeters gave a valiant effort last night. It really was a remarkable punt game lineup Sleepy Joe sent out

What a time to be alive. Did any of us, save one Jake loyalist, think those words would ever be said in the same sentence?

I keep waiting for him to crash out, but he keeps proving me wrong. Wish he would get more RBI opportunities though. He's 3rd in hits, but only 21 RBIs.

Linda Mackingvale offered free tickets to last nights game to Westside members, and I jumped on it to take my son. 4 rows up on 1b side and had a great time watching bombs and a Crawford box special. I couldn’t believe Okert threw a cookie to the 9 hole batting .165…that was the difference in the game. So despite the minor league lineup they could have e win that game. Also it was hilarious we had nobody to pinch hit against Classe so we rolled out Hummel and Trammel…probably his easiest save in a long time.

It’s clear that Jake Meyers is damaged beyond repair and the team doesn’t know how to tell us

Honestly, it makes sense to use this as an excuse to give Trammel some at bats to sink (likely) or swim. He hit a 3-run homer last night!

If you gave me a snapshot in March of the lineup these last 4 games or so I would guess we’d be 20 games below 500

Injury associations that I don’t like seeing in the last few years and what they end up being or lead directly to:

Strained forearm —-> Torn UCL (Tommy John)

Strained calf —-> Ruptured/torn Achilles

Keep that bad juju off of Jake.

Some of y'all follow spring training and the minors more closely than I do, but there are 4 players in the lineup tonight that I had never heard of until they got called up in the last couple of months. All I kept hearing from the outside was "Astros farm system ranks 30th" rabble rabble. And maybe when all is said and done, only Smith will last over the long haul. But this collection of guys does enough to win.

Hummel Short and Trammel are all quad A minor league free agent types. Hummel and Short are 30, Trammel is 27. They are not prospects or really considered part of our farm system

Jake Meyers did some running and lower-half work in right field before the game. Joe Espada said there was still some tightness when Meyers changed directions, but all in all, he is feeling better. Espada wants to try and stay away from him today.

Ballsy to let yourself get continuously beat by the only guy in their lineup who can beat you. Ramirez is a really, really good ball player.
