The interstate was built sixty years ago and definitely needs to be upgraded.
If this was any other part of the united states, the interstate would be 8 lanes.

I know it's all about the money which Louisiana,Mississippi,Alabama, and Florida probably wouldn't come together and make it happen.

Right.

Certainly not a high speed rail or other affordable means of public transportation.

Build more lanes!

I learned this lesson 35 years ago. It’s definitely a winning strategy.

I-10 via I-12 from BR all the way to Jacksonville is pretty much a smooth drive. Going west from BR past Houston is a shite show.

Took 98 back through Pensacola and hopped on Hwy 90 all the way to Biloxi.
Ate Crablegs and lost 300 at Boomtown on triple diamond slot machine.
It was an adventurous day for sure!

How is high speed rail working out in Cali? How does the Crescent work between New Orleans and Bham?

Amateur. It's still a 30 minute drive down 59 from Gulf Shores International Airport.

My pilot lands my Bell 222 right on top of the Phoenix IX and then we walk to our room.

It is mainly those damn 18 wheelers. A lot of them have governors on their accelerator so they can't go faster than seventy miles an hour.
