Amazon Prime - Worth The Price?

Is it worth the price? Do you really get any value for it or is it just another trap people fall into and get ‘addicted’ to the hi of constant rush that comes from shopping? A depression coping mechanism maybe?

The free shipping and NFL on Thursday probably makes it worth while if you like sports. You could always just subscribe during football season and cancel too. At least that would cover holiday shopping for shipping.

They'll give you free shipping on orders $35 and over unless that's changed. Every couple of months they offer me a free week or month of prime and I take advantage of that.
yeah it makes it way too easy to spend money. If I had to pay 5.99 in shipping there's a lot of cheap sh*t I just wouldn't order. I live in a rural area so it saves me from having to drive to get stuff I need, though.

I dont about the physiological impacts you're talking about...we use it for routine shopping, so yes.

Not having to go out for things I need around the house makes it incredibly worth it.

I ordered three things around 5pm last night and they were on my porch at 545am... doesn’t always work that fast, but it's usually fairly quick.
Also, my family gets a lot of use out of their streaming.
They also have other included services, we don't use those though.
I think it's worth it.

If you shop at Whole Foods it’s worth it

I've always thought we were paying for the privilege of spending more money with fewer psychological barriers. I honestly don't use it enough to justify what I spend for shipping alone, but I do waste time on Prime Video dreck out of boredom.
Now, if there is a woman in the house, and you don't have Prime, you will come close to bankruptcy because they will not pay attention and change their shopping behavior. I always want to purchase direct (from Soundcore, Anker, etc.) when possible, but then off of Amazon, you're paying $11 for five day shipping.

Amazon Fun Fact:
Prime Day is only run to test the systems resiliency for the Christmas holidays.
Not to clean out inventory or give back to their members.
It's strictly an IT function.
Now you know.

Not any more.
I had it for 2 years, and would only order stuff one or two times a month. Shipping has gotten progressively worse.
Prime delivery has gone from next day when introduced to essentially standard shipping in my area.
You would think with the logistical juggernaut Amazon built that prime would be improving but instead it is regressing worse than Kmart or Sears as a retail outlet.
If it wouldn’t be for some of Amazon’s side businesses and ventures like Prime Video and Sports and things like AWS, they could be contracting as a company, but as of now they are still growing and getting into other ventures like satellite internet.

Don't do it.
My household has an addiction to Amazon, if at least one package isn't delivered every day they start having withdrawals.

If you never or rarely order from Amazon, no.
If you order a moderate to high amount of goods from them, most definitely.

I think it’s worth it. Course I do maintenance and fix a ton of stuff most people pay others to do. Cars, lawn equipment, pool, electrical, plumbing, etc. i can pretty much fix anything unless it requires fancy equipment that I would almost never use. So the free shipping, reviews, and variety of choice is good.
Some food items too that aren’t found locally.
Walmart is catching up though with delivery and variety. I go to Walmart and sometimes it’s cheaper or for name brand items not on Amazon.

It's absolutely worth it for me. I rarely if ever have to go to the store to get things. Just order it on Amazon and it's here in three days.

Most people don't know that Prime includes unlimited photo storage in original resolution.
That's a big deal to some folks who pay Apple or Google for extra storage

Haven’t bought anything from Amazon in years

Subscribe and save is legit if used correctly and managed quarterly.

I don't know..
We rarely watch Amazon Prime, we don't order a bunch of stuff. Amazon Music is okay, but I don't use it.
Not sure why we're paying for Amazon Prime now that I think about it.
