I refuse to believe "software updates" fix mechanical issues in vehicles

For anyone dealing with a ford F150 transmission issues. If I hear something rattling in the transmission during gear shifts it's crazy to think a "software update" can fix that. Vehicles have become entirely too "computerized"

Computerized shift valve on the transmission.

My neighbor, Daryl, had to take a job as a Walmart door greeter because these computer geek motherfrickers have put shade tree mechanics out of business.

I had a update for the front window regulators last week on my F150.

I say a a fact it does not fix the issue. I had the Lead block replaced, I am in the process of legal action with Ford. Last one I will every buy.

No, that didn't put them out of business. You can buy a balls out OBD II scanner/programmer for under $600, which should have been an easy investment as a mechanic. I spent under $75 and have used one for years to modify settings on Fords.
OP, if you understood (I barely anecdotally do, but can feel it) that changing your vehicle from "Normal," to "Tow/Haul," or "Sport," mode (changing shift timings, how fast the accelerator reacts, etc., you'd get it more. shite, my vehicle pre-charges the fuel injectors when I am walking up to my car with the key in my pocket.

Your choice, but this is 2025...
Bow down to your computer overlords.

Unfortunately true!

If you can hear that in the cab, it's unlikely a CPU problem, but possibly something loose in the linkage or a worn mount.

If you have the EcoBoost, expect those troubles to begin shortly. P0345 and P0349 codes fortified by an intermittent P0299 turbo sensor code.
As far as your transmission goes, despite the fact that you move a stick on the console into a "gear slot" there is nothing mechanical about how you control the drive train anymore. EVERYTHING is f'ing electronics these days. That's why service departments are full of techs and not actual mechanics anymore.

What does the update do?? Shouldnt the basic OS cover everything needed to operate the car to begin with?
