quote:
Today, our hearts are heavy as we share that Brother Swaggart has finished his earthly race and entered into the presence of His Savior, Jesus Christ. Today was the day he has sung about for decades. He met his beloved Savior and entered the portals of glory. At the same time, we rejoice knowing that we will see him again one day. For over seven decades, Brother Swaggart poured out his life preaching the gospel, singing songs of the faith, and pointing millions to the saving power of Jesus Christ and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. His voice echoed through nations, his music softened hearts, and his message never changed: Jesus Christ and Him crucified. He was not just a preacher—he was a worshiper, a warrior, and a witness to the grace and mercy of God. He was a man whose faith was steadfast and always entered whatever door the Lord opened. And the Lord honored that faith. Please continue to lift up Sister Frances, Donnie, Debbie, Gabriel, Jill, Jennifer, Clif, Matt, Joanna, Sam, Ryder, Abby, Lola, Harper, Navy, Harrison, Caroline and Mackenzie in your prayers. The family would like to thank the staff, doctors and nurses at Baton Rouge General Medical Center for their incredible support and care given during this time. Swaggart family statement

On his way to that long hooker track in the sky.

The man did good for many people. If one person changed their life to positive because of him, then it was a life well lived. He built some great buildings off Bluebonnet and contributed to our city. He made one mistake and gets torched by people who have done way worse themselves.
Rest in peace Mr Swaggart.

RIP to one of the greatest con artists of our lifetime. He built a TAX FREE multi-million-dollar empire and lived a life of luxury by taking advantage of unintelligent people. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

caught
And that was his mistake.
And that was his mistake.

quote:let me first say that I think he's with the Lord and was a Christian, although I disagree with much of what he does. Only the Lord knows.
He made one mistake
That being said, that's the only thing he was "caught" doing. Doesn't mean it's the only thing.

Exhibit A of how there's at least two sides to every story
RIP Brother Swaggart and God speed

He said, "Come on over here son, let me show you around
Over there's where we put the preachers, I never liked those clowns
They're always blaming me for everything wrong under the sun
It ain't that harder to do what's right, it's just maybe not as much fun
Then they walk around thinking they're better than me and you
And then they get caught in a motel room
Doing what they said not to do"

You think he went with a cheap hooker at a cheap motel the first time he cheated on his wife? Swaggart was a major scumbag. Good riddance.

David had a man killed so he could sleep with his wife and was still called "a man after God's own heart." Only God knows what was in Swaggart's heart and if he was sincerely repentant then maybe he is with the Lord now.
