Scott has done one good thing since being AD at LSU, and the craziest part is that one thing is enough for people to love him and have the safest job in America.

Kim Mulkey - came on her own. All he had to do was give her $. Most of tRant could've hired Kim. Don't tell me he did anything to get Kim.

Brian Kelly - oh boy! I don't want to upset too many of you. He isn't great, he isn't bad. Super meh hire.

Matt McMahon - ha ha ha. The worst coach LSU has had in any major sport in forever. Abysmal, horrible, worst of the worst hire.

What am I trying to say? I'm cool with it. CJJ hire makes up for everything. The most out the park, homerun hire LSU has made in ages. Jay's hiring is enough to outweigh all the rest of Scott's shenanigans.

Like Scott, love Scott, hate Scott. He brought our goat CJJ home.

BK has underwhelmed a bit, but on paper he was a grand slam hire.

Do you think Kim is paid from a money tree? It took Scott to play his connections to get that done

This thread will end up being a lot to wade through.

I think this is a tad disingenuous.

The classic. Only has a few posts, can't have an opinion.

You're an idiot. I posted a thread that I believe is very true and accurate. Mr. 500 posts, don't comment on this thread if it upsets you.

We also won our first natty in gymnastics.

BK isn't ideal but he's what we could get. Most big names used us to leverage a pay raise.

Okay, I'll play along.

Tell me you've never negotiated a multimillion dollar business deal without telling me you've never negotiated a multimillion dollar business deal.

Not really. It took longer than expected but we're back to being a preseason top 10 team again. Expectations are back. If he falls on his face this year, I'll agree that it probably won't ever work but let's not pretend the landscape around LSU hasn't vastly improved since 2021.

LSU basketball was in a mess but who knows if it would've been in a mess regardless of McMahon or no McMahon. We'll see how he does this year and if it stinks again, he'll probably be gone.

Pirate king in shambles trying to figure out whether to knight for McMahon or pile on Kelly.

We’re splitting hairs here but I’d go out and day Nikki Fargas was a worst hire than McMahon in LSU history

Both have stolen way too much money from LSU.

Find me another current AD who has hired three national title winning coaches in the past 10 years.

Please list the names of other AD's who you think are doing better. How would you rate the current state of the LSU athletic department.

The only Woodward head scratcher for me is O extension.

Scott has done a good job overall, sadly he screwed up BK's contract. and that is the most visible screw up you can have as an AD.

3rd most wins in the sec behind Kirby and one game behind Kiffin since ‘22.

We won 5 games the year before he joined. How quickly you people forget

The worst thing that could happen to our fanbase was for him to take the team to the SEC championship in year 1. Everyone had already come to terms that we would have to rebuild, but that gave everyone unrealistic expectations.

But yes, in year 4 he is expected to produce.
