Both survived!

Incredible bravery and luck by the father and good job by the ship’s crew to rescue them.

Father of the year there.

This is a literal nightmare of mine. I took my two daughters on a Disney cruise when they were seven and lectured them extensively about the risks of falling overboard. I imagined what I would do in such a situation, and resolved that I would have to jump in after them. I wouldnt be able to live with myself otherwise. Kudos to the brave father. Very fortunate they survived.

I had this same problem with a niece of mine years ago. We went on a family cruise and she was a 3 year old fricking maniac. I just knew that little shite was going to try to go overboard. She was so fricking bad I wanted my sister to put her on a fricking leash.

Luckily it looked flat calm and daylight. Any seas and treading water for 20 minutes while holding a child would be virtually impossible especially at night

I've never been on a Disney Cruise ship but how in the hell can this happen? Might be more to the story.

Good thing it was during the day. At night this story likely wouldn't have had the same happy ending.
