Im wondering how hard Golden State and the Lakers are going to go after him.

He's still very talented.
Would thrive with Luka or Trae.

How would y'all feel if we signed I'm here to a two year 45 mil?

Ayton, who turns 27 next month, had $35.6 million left on his contract, which was set to expire next summer. Ayton and his representatives approached the Blazers about a buyout and Ayton wanting to play in a winning situation, sources said.

That eliminates the Pelicans.

He could have said “Wanting to play on an NBA team” and it could have eliminated the Pels.

If I was Ayton, I wouldn’t go to Lakers. Feels like it be too much pressure. They start losing, they found a scapegoat in Ayton. They start winning, it’s Luka or Lebron.
Can he deal with butler also with the warriors?
Be smart for him to go Miami or Milwaukee tbh.

He is, but it feels like he's already on the downside of his career.
He's gone from playing 67 games to 55 then 40 this year.
His FG% has gone down 4 straight years from .634 to .566.
PPG has gone down 3 straight years - 18 to 16.7 to 14.4.
His rebounding has been consistent at least - still averaging 10 per game.
I'm guessing he's aiming for one last big contract from someone and didn't want to chance it after another downward season.

Not that we are a player for him anyway, but I am not interested in Ayton at all

I am just really really hoping that somehow this takes the Lakers out for Lopez and we have a chance to overpay.

I wouldn’t want that bum if he was on a minimum deal.
If you ever watch him play you’d see how lazy and unproductive his “nice” numbers really are.

The thing that stood out to me the most was I felt Missi was massively out playing him head to head when we played the Blazers. Early in the season, but we had all this talk of needing to add a starter like Ayton, and I was watching this rookie we had be the better player on the court.

Dude is absolutely lazy as hell. Just decides to play when he wants to.
I'd rather start Missi and a backup minimum than have Ayton.

All this.
Yall thought you hated lazy players before, Ayton is one of the most aggravating players to watch in the league.

We are the Pelicans, a beggar franchise that can't ever get a FA, that has a big need of a Vet Big at Center, the guy averaged 14/10 last year and is a former #1 pick...
And we want nothing to do with him. He is just too lazy for.
I'm sure Dumars will swing for the fences for him though

When he wants to play and is engaged, he’s pretty good.

While I agree, if our options are Ayton vs no one or Ayton vs Looney type moves then Ayton on a min contract is a steal.
Idc if he's lazy if we are getting a 16/10 guy on a min contract at the biggest position of need. Maybe a starting opportunity on a competitive team without pressure would be good for him. If he avg 16/10 being lazy then that's better than anything we have...

Yeah, he averaged 14/10 which is pretty darn good
He is just very inconsistent
If we got him on some kind of crazy discount rehab his image deal that gave him some motivation to play his arse off...maybe.
But someone is going to offer him something stupid. There just aren't enough guys like him to go around

Lopez would be nice, good mentor for our young bigs with a little bit still left in the tank. Ayton, not so much even though he has talent.
