How is the LIV not bleeding money?

Do they still pay out huge purses to the winner? I know alot of people that watch golf and none of them watch that tourney. I tried watching it Friday and the scoreboard was like watching the x games. It's preposterous.

They are
But PIF is nearly a trillion dollar fund. In reality it’s just a scrape that doesn’t break the skin
They could make back any of these operating losses through just the interest on their cash reserves sitting in banks

The goal has never been to make money.

The product has certainly been hit or miss, but of all the reasons to not watch, this one is pretty retarded

I mean it's not a huge deal. I get what your saying that im picking. It's not just a scoreboard, it's the whole presentation of it. If cbs did away with covering college football and ja rule started commentating I would like that less also. That's a minor change that doesn't affect the game also. What are the things that you think make it less desirable to watch?

So im nowhere near a multi billionaire but drawing 20+ million a year on interest seems unrealistic.

You know what this is, probably Trump is bailing out the Saudis on the golf investment by giving them Iran in exchange for Timeshare development investment $$ along and across the Gulf of America
The entire Gulf will be like a trump resort

The same reason they’re spending crazy money on soccer players in a league no one cares about.

It's Saudi, I doubt they even care. You'd be shocked just how much money they throw around.
Posted on 6/29/25 at 2:25 pm to Themicah86
They don't care. It's an irrelevant tour and it's never gonna get a audience.

Math is hard.
$1,000,000,000 x 4.246% (current 10 year treasury yield) = $42,460,000.
So if you have 500 of those billions you’d have over $2bn in interest.

Yea nothing ever changes when you scale it. Ever.

Since we paid for it at the pump the least they could do would be to fund something we actually want to watch. Slamball on the moon would be cool.

I don’t even know what kind of point you’re trying to make
You said something dumb and then doubled down on it by saying something that makes no sense.

Saudi is literally pulling the Space Jam move in every sport.

They are not losing nearly as much as people think. Are they losing? Yes. They signed a Fox tv deal…it is worth a lot. Not NFL/NBA/PGA but a lot
On top of that, they have good turnout at events. Dallas event will have over 30k through the gates. Are those 2 things enough to make money? Not close. Will they still lose money? Yes. But ppl act like they are losing $30 mil per tournament and that is not close to the case
They might lose $3-$4 mil per tournament…when you diversify and make $250 million a day, who gives a frick

The play was always to get into the Tour, like they’ve done with Premier League soccer.
If they lose $500 million on LIV and spend $500 million to buy into the Tour, then they’ve won. Thats what some people fail to realize.
