Yeah can’t trade Herb now. Not this season. It would have to be a deal you can’t refuse

Trading Herb for a haul would've been there smart thing to do, before our brilliant front office decided to go all in on this next season. Now instead of sellers, we have to be buyers.

Losing both herb and naw would be very fitting for this team

You are aware that NAW hasn’t been with us for years right?

Also very funny tweet. “The warriors want herb jones or one of the bigger free agents this cycle, but only if they can get them cheap”

Strongly disagree with this thought process. If we trade Herb for a nice haul including picks, we're back where we started with draft capital plus Fears and Queen.

But without our best (only) defender.

I’m alright with trading Herb given the value he could return and a looming much larger contract. But the value needs to be VERY high.

Not “given to the warriors”

Not sure what they could offer. Not sure a Kuminga sign and trade would get that deal done and other than that they don’t have much to even offer.

And making our team shitty without a 1st next year.

Trading an unprotected 1st means going all in on the playoffs. You cannot do anything else

I mean if we could get Kuminga on a discounted deal like what Herb signed I'd be down, but I know I'm higher on him than most and probably anyone on here.

Just so everyone understands, next season is his age 23 season.

I will say he looked poised for a huge leap but went the opposite way last year. He did suffer a major injury and never got in sync with them.

He's a guy who would put up monster stats on a lesser team with less depth and a different system, but the question would be if he was a "good stats/bad team" guy who contributed to winning. But if he was on a cheap deal age 24-25, then he would maintain value with the possibility of taking a leap into stardom.

I mean we justified getting Poole this year for similar reasons and he's on a terrible deal and too old to take a leap. It's not crazy to think we could invest-flip Kuminga or that it would give us the depth to deal Zion.

*ETA: The algo got me. Zach Lowe explaining Kuminga being a base year player

So his salary would need to be more than Jones's salary to work

Can Kuminga play defense at PG/ SG or is 7' tall? Absolutely no reason to add him to this roster at all. PF is the most depth we have on the entire team.

Zion/ Queen/ Karlo/ Trey/ Peavy

If we trade Herb its either going to be for a small salary and multiple picks or (1) player moving to starting lineup.

Agreed. He’s just the only asset they have that’s worth anything. I think the only thing they can offer is a sign and trade with kuminga and maybe some picks or bringing in a 3rd team. Herb can be dealt imo but, the warriors offer much of nothing. I would listen to some offers of some future firsts that begin in 2-3 years when Steph, green, and butler should all be about done.

Dumbass will trade Herb for a heavily protected 2026 first.

There's a 50/50 chance we don't get a player worth anything in a Herb trade. It would either be us sending Herb and probably picks for a starting center. Or its going to be a cheap mediocre player coming back with several picks.

Think more like

Herb + 1st for Jarrett Allen
Buddy Hield+ (2) 1st for Herb

If we do end up trading Herb for picks and a smaller contract then I'd want a Pritchard/ Hauser + several picks.

It would have to be something like

Moody

One of Jackson-Davis or Post

3 unprotected FRPs

Would try to get Podz instead of Moody

I doubt any of this actually happens

Any trade with Herb involved has to have a Center coming back and well I dont like any of them on the Warriors.
