Not ONE returning team from 2024. There was really no Cinderellas like Murray State. Most were traditionally good programs like Florida State, North Carolina, Tennessee, A&M, Virginia, Florida. How many times has that happened?

It was the first time since 1960 I think. They referenced it a few times.

You just rattled off a bunch of programs that never win the CWS or backed into 1.

LSU won the CWS finals using only 3 pitchers.

Outside of ark this may have been one of easiest fields in Omaha

When you go back and look at the talent on Tenn, wake and Florida in 23 it’s not even close

His point was that none of those teams are remotely considered Cinderellas. They are major D1 college baseball programs, regardless of titles.

When the Tigers pulled off the 9th inning vs Arkie my son said “no way CC beats this team in rotation in a 3 game series”

Yea I think the 23 team would smoke the 25 team but the 25 team won the CWS without even dropping one game. The 23 team lost twice at the CWS.

They're still on that list when you think about successful baseball programs.

Including UNC, A&M and even Tennessee in the top programs conversation is a wide net.

Tennessee goes back to Alabama as a baseball program without Vitello.

The 25 team never really SEEMED like a great team. At least compared to 23. Yet they just kept winning and winning and winning until one day you realized “holy shite! This team is going to win the championship!”

That’s because we tend to judge greatness by offense ability. The 23 team may been better offensively but the 25 team had a lower era overall and played better defense.

Maybe, maybe not.

Sure, 23 would win a homerun derby, easily. And Skenes probably beats Anderson in a game 1, although Anderson could bow up and match him inning for inning.
But a 3 game series? I'd bet on Eyanson over Hurd, and definitely Evans in a game 3.

The season finished a lot differently that I thought it would after the regionals.

There were teams I thought for sure we might see in the World Series.

Floyd would pitch game two for the ‘23 team. It still would be a good series. I do think the ‘23 team would win. Just because of the top end talent on that team.
