Any top flight pitching transfers LSU is eyeing in Baseball?

I sure hope Jay knows this. I bet he didn’t put a perfect recruiting pitch out there the last week and a half in Omaha. Probably didn’t discuss it at all during the pressers or a single interview. When Kade Anderson & Anthony Eyanson both go in the 1st, while Chase Shores goes in the Top 3 rounds, I just know that’s a terrible recruiting pitch. I’m sure with Jay being on the broadcast will further worsen the situation.
Jay Johnson is an obsessed maniac (In the best possible way.) recruiter (Both HS & portal transfers.). He literally just said 2 days ago that Omaha is the place he wants to be most. He’s won 2 of the last 3. For frick’s sake, why would you worry about the baseball program?? We have the best coach in the country and best staff.

I'm no recruiting guru but I'm pretty sure hoisting the National Championship trophy above your head is a pretty good opening line to any recruiting pitch.

Gage Jump, Luke Holman, Anthony Eyanson, and Paul Skenes were much better than the group of this years transfer portal player. At least right now. The guy from Baylor has pretty good stuff though, but Jay also really likes the staff we have coming back so he is going to be a little more selective unless a star comes into the portal which I don't think is going to happen.

I'm not sure we bring in a stud pitcher this year. Some schools are offering bigger NIL deals than us. I suspect that is what happened with Bailey. I expect us to bring in solid pitchers but not necessarily studs.

Ark gave root $200k more than what lsu could offer. LSU isnt really going to outbid any major players for college free agents. If money is the main thing, we wont get them.

Jay has stated a few times that his goal isn't to rebuild this roster through the portal, but develop what he already has here. I expect our portal efforts to be minimal this year.

Kelly said the same thing early in his LSU career until he realized the portal is necessary to success...no matter how much a coach doesn't like it.
LSU just won a NC with 4 of the 8 starting fielders being transfers, as well as the game 2 starting pitcher. He's going to dig deep into the portal again because that is REQUIRED if a program wants to sustain success.

He didn't say he never wants to do it.
He said he likes the foundation of the roster. Kelly was saying it out of ignorance. Jay is anything but ignorant.
