OK, let me get this straight: A person using the Gadsden Flag as an avatar is ginning up support for a petition to put pressure on Congress to ban or limit a legal industry's ability to advertise.
I will accept some public policy arguments, but just not from someone flying that flag because they are too internally conflicted. Ole Chris G is shaking his head.

But how will I be aware of medication that I have absolutely no use for (for the time being).

Do you know how many fat dancers will be out of work if we get rid of these ads?

I fricking hate them, and I will not sign.
It's not up to the government to censor these things. In fact, I'd like to get government out of the entire thing as much as possible.

The government told the cigarette industry that they cannot advertise cigarettes on TV and made them put warning labels on packaging. Also, hard liquor was prohibited from advertising too for a time, but that seems to have softened a bit.
While not a complete ban, I would support banning advertising specific pharmaceutical drugs, but I would allow image advertising of the company without mentioning specific brand name pharmaceuticals. That is where websites can come into play for drug companies to introduce new medicines to the consumer base.

Big Pharma media spending isn’t about educating the consumer, ….. it’s about narrative control and influencing the media.
It is the height of naivety to suggest otherwise.
If Congress weren’t so thoroughly corrupt, this shyte would’ve never been allowed

It’s the hidden agenda in the ads that I’m against. Like having faggots sizing each other up is damn disgusting. I don’t want to see it and I damn sure don’t want my grandkids seeing it. Just clean them up is all.

No, I disagree. I find them just as annoying as you, but it's too slippery slope. Are we going to start banning all commercials because they annoy us?

It would be a ban on advertising for a controlled substances that are only sold under doctor's orders. It is not about banning advertising because they annoy us or put us in a awkward situation when two dudes are kissing about the latest PreP drug during an LSU baseball game.
